I feel if we had Huk’s energy out there last night things may have been better.

Also Josh needs to hit his shots. Teams are going to double off him

We have regressed each month on 3pts%, that's wild. Most of the other stats as well by the way. Strength of schedule plays a part but we're not trending in the right direction.

It's almost like the minutes police were right.

I get worked up from time to time. Start looking for causation. Are they not coaching to the open 3 any more? Might argue that the three is what they take if the midrange isn’t there. Are they not practicing shooting during practice? 3pts and FT% have dropped dramatically. Does their shooting software have a virus? Is Coach not coaching?

But somehow, whenever I start to think this, I remember the good games. I figure this is a team in progress that is still finding its defensive identity. I assume whatever it is they are doing in practice is by design not just lack of knowledge. So if they are running midrange sets, it’s cause they want to run midrange sets, not because they are incapable of running 3pt sets.

The team lacks a cohesiveness, but I have faith that this is a well constructed team. Each player has weaknesses, but as a whole they are the best constructed and well thought out team in decades.

I’d really like to see a full on 4-1 offense or 5-out. But if they aren’t, it’s not cause Coach doesn’t know how.

24% from three won’t win any games. KB and Bridges 2 for 12
Not having KAT is hard to overcome.
OG had a good game but was gassed in the 4th with 41 minutes.
Let’s get healthy.

Fair

Did I do that on purpose? Nah. Fixed.

We need our $50M dollar man!

martin @ 3/5/2025 8:23 AM
Not bad but still underwhelming? 1 more win would have been good IMHO

franco12 @ 3/5/2025 9:04 AM
McBride, Shamet and Payne were the only Positives on the =/- last night.

we do need more McBride- I don’t know if it is the knee or Thibs not giving him more minutes.

martin @ 3/5/2025 9:59 AM
Not good

sorry but our guys looked tired. they weren't grabbing rebounds, they weren't running out or rotating- lots of watching the ball or the man shoot wide open.

martin @ 3/5/2025 10:39 AM
Defender extraordinaire, spacer, cutter. Don't let him dribble too much.

I still got 100% trust he will knock them down when they really count.

wait, you mean last night was not counting. Wow, I thought we lost a regular season game.

GustavBahler @ 3/5/2025 11:38 AM
KAT’s GF posted this yesterday Hope everything is ok. Last few games KAT was playing like his mind was somewhere else. More than just having a bad game.

Believe he was 6 for 20 against the Pacers in the playoffs.

Josh's defense has been exceptionally bad this year. If you look at all the wide open 3s we give up, he's often the culprit. IDK if it's his fault or he's coached to go after rebounds at the expense of staying with his man or what.
blkexec @ 3/5/2025 12:58 PM
Some hate to admit this because he’s been the glue for this engine. But truth be told, hart is a utility knife that Thibs needs to use off the bench. We need a deuce type player who can space the floor and provide 2 way defense, in that starting lineup.

Off the bench Hart will have the ball in his hands more and he can do what he does, in that up and down fast pace second unit.

But the starting 5 must be successful in half court. Not guarding hart just crowds driving lanes and puts more pressure on hart to make open 3s. Right now deuce is that guy. Hart and /or mikal can finish games if they have it going.

VDesai @ 3/5/2025 1:46 PM
Hart fills a lot of gaps. He's also being asked to play nearly every minute of every game and he's 100% motor hustle guy. I think its not really possible to play the way he does for this many games in a row and he's banged up. It was almost a joke last year in the playoffs, but he wound up with an abdominal tear.

No doubt he has missed rotations. The team as a whole often looks confused on who's covering who. There's still not a lot of defensive continuity here.

I also agree that there aren't enough guys creating their own shots. When KAT goes out, Mikal has to be the next guy up on shot generation beyond Brunson. OG stepped up, but we know he's not the best off the dribble creator.

So why haven't be brought up TJ? We need the offense/bucket getter and we need someone to take time off the wings.
