Kind of a bummer this year. We traded our FRP to Brooklyn for Mikal Bridges. Even the Detroit pick should convey this year (which I predicted) was traded. We would have had 2 FRP's but now we have none. I

Yeah, wish were able to keep that Detroit pick. Here is hoping on the WAS one next couple of years.

That mock is off and still has us with the Detroit pick. Fortunately, I don't see anyone that list with losing sleep over

Aller/Leon and co seem to have a good relationship with OKC - we have traded with them on draft night mutliple times. We know OKC can't roster every single pick they own, so I think if we really like someone we can always "purchase" a pick through OKC in the late first/early 2nd.

Given apron constraints I think the Knicks made a calculated gamble to not have first rounders push them against the limits over the next few years and prefer to fill the back end with 2nds.

For example, if you can buy a mid 2nd, a guy I would target is Alex Karaban. National champion at UConn, great shooter, players within the offense. He's a Max Strus type role player on a playoff team IMO, with better overall length / wingspan.

They’re comparing Dylan Harper to a bigger Jalen Brunson

I guess we still have a pick somewhere in the 2nd rd. The cool think about that mock is you can change years and look back or forward. You can get an early look at 2026. Kolek was mocked at 29 last year. McCullar at 43 and Dadiet at 26 to OKC. The Big Mermaid pick came out of nowhere. I think we did a good job of making something out of nothing last year, maybe they’ll do it again this year

They got us mocked picking at 27 next year. That’s respect I’m not used to as a Knicks fan!

34. Charlotte Hornets: Alex Karaban (Connecticut, SF/PF)

Previous Mock Position: No. 31
Size: 6'8", 225 lbs
Age: 22
Nationality: USA
Pro Comparison: Georges Niang

By 2025, the scouting report on Alex Karaban feels well defined. Movement shooting, play-finishing, a reliable float game, defensive toughness and sound decision-making represent attractive, role-playing qualities for the NBA. On-ball limitations creating or earning advantages with athleticism hint at a lower ceiling.

Washington is looking good to pair Cooper Flagg with Alex Sarr.

Dont love it because the size isn't comparable. Its because he is not an explosive athlete, but highly skilled. Maybe James Harden is a closer comp IMO
