His shot making and ability to get to the rim at his size are pretty remarkable.
His decision making (often) pretty piss poor.
Thibs is so easy to predict. He will always have people willing to fight for him no matter how dumb the mistakes he makes. Thats fine, I am no longer arguing with people over things they purposely turn a blind eye to until after he is gone. Happened to Randle and happening with Thibs.

No young player is perfect and Kolek does need to work on his defense. But one of my biggest frustrations with Thibs is his stubbornness to the point of madness. You have a good distributor in Kolek and the Knicks are having consecutive empty possessions with Cam not helping. TRY PLAYING KOLEK! Nah, rather we keep losing abusing the rest of the players even if they are playing terrible like Josh.
I wanna see my Knicks improve and win big, but I’ve sadly come to the conclusion that it might take a coaching change for them to take the real next step.
I am still on the TJ over PJ train. I rather a player who does things that we need as a team over a bench cheerleader.
Edit: I forgot for a second that Thibs will never play him. I guess it no longer matters which we sign.
Tough loss. We hung in there against one of the hottest teams but just didn't have enough. We had our chances though to take the lead late but KAT missed some 3s and got burned by that idiot Draymond for that layup.
KAT really wanted this one and came out aggressive. Sucks the zebras called that 3rd foul early in the 2nd bur credit to the team for keeping it close. Deuce was really good! Loved that block on Curry! Bridges and OG were alright but they didn't step up when we fell into those scoring droughts.
Hart had a bad game and deserved to get yelled at by Thibs. He was too lackadaisical on defense and gave up some corner 3s. Also didn't make a single shot. National TV game on the road, you can't play this poorly. I love Hart and he's allowed to have a bad game and I know he will bounce back. Mitch was also pretty brutal. Looked super slow out there so he still needs to shake off the rust. Bench was awful.
Of course I'm disappointed nobody had KAT's back with Draymond. I know it isn't the 90s anymore but it's kind of disrespectful to laugh it up and hug that idiot after the game after what he said about your teammate and all the bs he was doing in this game. Most disappointed in Bridges. That's strike 2. First was crying to the media about minutes and now this. He's coming across as very Charles Smithish lately. Know where you're playing man and respect your teammates! I'd be really pissed off if I was KAT!
2-3 in this trip which honestly isn't bad without the Cap. Next 5 games are very winnable.

It's such an apt comparison. I mean, no disrespect for Charles Smith. But - Bridges is better than this, or should be.

You Doris's husband ?
He makes a good point. PJ was right there doing the same.
How a real team should act. I can't say I really respect any of these dudes. Green can do all he did to a team member and yall talking to him like he a life long buddy. I am just not feeling this team at all. It is such a shame coming off last season.
I tried to watch this game on replay. Our offense is fkin garbage. Iso and random shots from the 3. I hate it with a passion. Yes, when Brunson plays it's not as noticable. Whatever. We don't box out. Our fast breaks are probably the worst in the league. When Josh does it it's not so noticable, but it's ISO , again. Fire Thibs already. We have so many great 3 point shooters....do we take advantage? Why the fck would we? Thibs would not allow it, you need plays for that. Just get to the second round sweep already ( fck, Brunson would not allow it and Thibs might survive) I really don't like Thibs anymore. He needs to go and we need to shoot some 3's against him. I just hope he goes to a contender in the East so that we can abuse that team.
Not a bad loss, but a few points I want to note:
1)Was disturbed by the lack of support before and after the game for Karl. I expected someone to step up and say that the team was playing for Kat and had his back, or even come to his defense when Draymon was talking trash, but the only one that spoke out was Hart. Btw, Hart was one of the few along with Deuce that didn’t treat Draymond like he was their favorite uncle.
2) PJ Tucker is supposedly some enforcer, but he was chopping it up with Butler and Green like he played for the Warriors. I saw absolutely nothing in him that suggests he was upset that his team just lost a game. Maybe GS is where he plans to go after that 10 day contract is up.
3) I like what I’ve seen of Mitch’s impact on the defense. He is quite far away in his conditioning, but his presence makes a significant impact. He was making the GS players alter their shots at the basket. Once he gets his legs under him, I think his fit with Kat will be good.
4) Finally, something that annoyed me was in the Warrior’s final possession of the first quarter. Jimmy Butler runs down the court and banks in a three point shot. What annoys me is that Mikal had a chance to get in front of him and at least slow him down so that he wouldn’t make it past the half court line to give him a more difficult shot. Instead it was almost like he just let him do it. I get that Butler isn’t a great three point shooter, but he should have tried to get in front of him to lead him into a lower percentage shot. Instead it led to three points, the same amount of points that we lost by. Take that three away and this game probably goes into overtime or maybe we win.

This is why we won’t win it all this year. I don’t know what happened, they seemed to have it early in the year, but somewhere along the way it feels like they just lost it. Maybe some of the guys are upset with KAT because of his lack of defense or something. Or maybe they lost their confidence in those Celtics/Cavs losses, or maybe they have soured on Thibs. I don’t know what it is but something is definitely off in that locker room for sure.

A little perturbed by this. If the Knicks bump into the pistons round 1 and get eliminated early Thibs could be on his way out.
I don't know if Thibs is cooked. Brunson adores him and his dad is an asst coach. It would be tricky to fire Thibs IMO. That said, I'm not sure he is the guy to figure out how to maximize this current group, given our limitations on defense with KAT/Brunson and the need to become a truly elite offensive team. It kind of seems like this team might need a Jax -> Kerr or Bickerstaff -> Atkinson or Casey -> Nurse kind of coaching maneuver more than it needs to shift the roster around.
I'm not really worried about him and Hart barking at each other, Hart has been playing like trash and wears it on his sleeve, constantly complaining to the refs and I'm sure he's complaining to the coaches in the same manner. His play is under the microscope now and I think he's feeling the heat.
Watching everyone dap up Draymond makes me sick to my stomach though. This team is soft as fuck, there is no denying that at all.
new coach could take team backwards. it happens also. Those fade into obscurity.
Thibs is not cooked. Its not like he has had 2-3 years of a set core roster and failed to advance.
While he has been here a few years and over achieved, this is the fist year he starts the season with three new starters, and because the bench is thin, Josh moves to starting line up.
Thats 4 new starters.
This team needs to gel and get its bench set.
Also as much as I love Josh this years version of maybe peak Grimes is preferred. A big 2 that can shoot. Josh is reverting back with not squaring up on his shot. He is falling back some. Likely its the Knee.
"Minutes"? We been thru this 100x. The bench has not been great. Knicks have actually done well compared to many teams dealing with games lost due to injuries.

I agree it can also take them backwards, we've seen that in PHX, we've seen it in MIL. Lakers before they landed Reddick couldn't find a coach they liked either.
I am on the side of not firing Thibs but he must be able to adapt. He has to be able to change a few things. Why are we playing lineups with Mitch, Hart and Precious at the same time? It's almost like he is making the bench look worse than it is on purpose to prove a point.
Thibs not necessarily cooked but a first round exit this year I would not be shocked at all
