If we can maintain our 3 seed and rest up a bit and no injuries the most prepared coach in the business will have these guys ready to destroy. Yes, all teams at full health. Bring it.

I don’t know what was funnier.

The part where you wrote, if we can “rest up a bit” or having “the most prepared coach in the business.”

I just voted Bucks. I worry about the Pistons youth and athleticism.

Would love the Pacers, but thinking that for the path to the Finals, if we were to drop into the 4th position - Pacers get the Pistons unless they pass the Bucks, which is possible, and then the line up with the Celtics and we get the Cavs- certainly no pushover - but lately they’ve hit a rough patch and maybe they are like the Rangers last year- great record in the regular season, then brittle in the playoffs.

Now - with the Bucks - I don’t worry about Giannis - but Dame could go insane and carry them through us. I suspect OG would be able to stop him, though.

That series against the Bucks was stolen from us. Melo got fouled all day and the Pacers center ( what's his face) was apparently " straight up"

3/6 versus Milwaukee is starting to solidify and it’s hard to not be cautiously optimistic about that matchup. We seem to have their number in a big way. Brunson always goes off against them and OG is probably the best defender in the NBA to match up against Giannis. Lillard might not be ready either. Bucks supporting cast is pretty trash. I like our chances.
Panos @ 3/31/2025 10:49 AM
Ok, I orignally said Indy, but after sweeping the season series against Milwaukee, I have NO PROBLEM staying right where we are and have a favorable match-up against the Bucks in the first round. The next round will be challenging enough!
VDesai @ 3/31/2025 11:41 AM
4 game lead on Indy with 8 games left and we own the tie break so they would have to essentially play 5 games better than us.

I believe the magic number now sits at 4....so any combination of 4 knick wins or Indy losses gives us the 3.

Milwaukee without Dame is a compromised team and even with Dame I think we have the advantage.

BTW I would not want to be playing the Pacers right now. Haliburton looks way healthier post all star break and is rolling. They could get hot in the right series and be trouble.

and they still are 1 game over 500 vs teams over 500, unlike the NY Knicks who are 12 & 18.

Pistons and Bucks are tied now. They got 2 games against each other. We are gonna sweat this shit out till the last game of the year folks. We might as well lock up the 3 seed in the unlikely event the Cavs get bounced and we beat the Celtics and find ourselves in it against Indy in the ECF somehow...
Panos @ 4/6/2025 9:47 PM
Detroit has dropped into 6th
Nalod @ 4/6/2025 11:33 PM
Tonite you saw the playoff rotation.
Thibs is getting them ready.
VDesai @ 4/7/2025 9:56 AM
This is getting spicy.

Knicks are still not locked into the 3. Magic no.1 is 1, but the Knicks have to face Celtics, Pistons, Cavs over their next 3. Indy with a game against Washington next. MIght take longer to get the 3 than we think.

Milwaukee now a game ahead of Detroit. They play each other twice at the end of the year, but Detroit needs to win at least one of their next 2 to keep this in range to get the 5. Its now looking increasingly likely we are 3 and Detroit is 6. Still Milwaukee could slip and Detroit can finish strong.

martin @ 4/7/2025 1:58 PM
Do all fan bases do this or is it just Knicks fans that are so insecure?

Knick fans eat this shit up. We miss the starphuch I suppose.
That off season buzz that its all gonna be better.

Dude was like "I'd like to see it play out first"? Like WTF, nobody is firing Thibs before the playoffs.
If we falter vs a way lessor opponent, what happend and why? It matters.
The old "Some young bright college coach or some bright assistant"...AKA, some untested entity unless you can get someone that won like Mike Malone or Sports?

All fans do this shit when disappointed. Think another can do better. Its a hope. A starphuch hope.

If Milwaukee finishes 5th, we may WANT to slip to 4th.
The interesting thing is beating Pistons this week makes more likely Knicks stay in 3rd, and more likely they stay in 6th. At which point we face the Pistons.
However, losing to them makes it more likely Knicks slip to 4th, and more likely they move up to 5th! At which point we face the Pistons.
Its the Piston Paradox!

It’s unlikely we don’t clinch the 3 seed. Only thing might save us from pistons is they have 2 games left with the bucks.

Slipping to 4th involves losing out and the Pacers winning out. Its unlikely.
