Anyone notice we look good at the start of the season and after all star break? seems like whenever we have a forced rest we look good until they get ran into the ground again.
Clean @ 3/20/2025 11:25 PM

Remember the only thing that matters is winning. I am to the point where Thibs is the worst. He is so short-sighted that he can't see over working players and not developing young players is killin wins in the long term. So he is pushing for the win tomorrow by sacrificing wins weeks to months down the road after the group gets burned out. Yea, I am done with him. I am back on the fire Thibs train. Dude never learns anything. On the bright side, we are less than a month until Caitlin starts training camp and I can have fun watching basketball again.

This is why relying on the starters so much on the regular is bad. Now that we really need them to have a heavy workload they have nothing left because they been working at max capacity the whole season. We not even in the playoffs yet. This post season is going to suck.

Shamet 3 point shooter scared to sh*t to shoot.

Some truth here.

With every game Josh Hart sticks out like a sore thumb poking me in both eyes.

Glad I missed the game. But my islanders keep winning so there is that. We should have the third seed locked up although if we have a total collapse I could see us dropping. If the players aren't tired, are they just not good? Because when they've been rested they look good.
Clean @ 3/21/2025 12:28 AM
By the way, we are not good enough to waste a roster spot on PJ Tucker. Obviously that one game had nothing to do with him. Plus him treating Dramond like a long lost friend means he will not be an enforcer. So what exactly is his reason for being here? Sign TJ Warren and get him up to speed so we can actually have someone who can hit a 3 and can shot create.

Our bench can't be an NBA team bench...... just can't be..... Payne Shamet and Precious are attrocious..... they are painful to see, I don't think they even belong to the G League..... Precious used to be much better, what the hell happened to him?

Fire Thibs....

This team has many flaws so not everything falls on Thibs.

----BUT----

When your biggest weakness at the beginning of the season remains your biggest weakness with two weeks left on the season, when the offense is as erratic, stagnant and relying on two players, when players are ran down because your stubbornness doesn't allow yo to expand the rotation not even when your main lineup is playing like crap, as well as so many other things that can be said, its hard to defend the coach.

His accomplishments here don't change: he was a huge part of this "renaissance". But this team seems to need a different voice with a more modern strategy against the 3pt shot and a more varied offense. Some players here are playing under their true level and while some blame goes to them individually, another has to go to the man calling the shots.

How can a true championship contender look so dysfunctional and undisciplined consistently, making every opponent, no matter how low they are, seem like a well-oiled unbeatable machine? The answer is that real contenders dont do that. We've been pretenders ever since we started showing our limitations against the elite teams. SInce then, nothing has changed.

This team needs a drastic change in leadership come the offseason.

I miss Johnnie Bryant.

Standing around and watching Brunson strategy has proven to be superior

He earned every cent of that max contract. Thibs offense is trash.

Clean @ 3/21/2025 8:43 AM

Someone will try to defend him though. There is always someone.

I assume Precious is down mentally after being cast aside for Mitch BUT he's played like crap most of season (and I'm one of his biggest supporters). His offense around the rim is BRUTAL and bordering on DISGUSTING. He shoots like he has blind fold on and all 10 fingers taped.

Past few games specifically he came into games and got beat to loose balls and numerous rebounds. His head is up his ass and his fingers are Mrs Buttersworth-like.

I don't know we've seen the offense work without Jalen -- solid games in Portland, GS and vs Miami. There does seem to be either fatigue or something amiss in the clubhouse AND we can't have a wing in Josh Hart who is afraid to shoot outside of a layup.

Having said the above ALL of our non Brunson players are limited with the ball in their hands.

Someone on another board said something that really rings true. How come every player on every other team (even scrubs) can dribble the ball into the paint and make a shot or a drive and kick. Meanwhile our guys are fumbling and bumbling, losing the dribble, running into people and bricking shit all over. Our collective skill with the ball in our hands is piss poor.

Also on another board I saw a comment that you can't win with Kat because the decision making and D are so poor.

The suggestion was to use him in a trade this summer for another star level player that might work better --- the same thought has crossed my mind.

Just in a bubble if we were going against Celtics would we be better off as is with Kat/OG/Mikal/Josh/Jalen or would something like Mitch/OG/KD/Mikal/Jalen with Josh/Deuce and new center off bench work better?

Yes - KD is a turd and is ready for old folks home but I'd still trust him to make the right plays and play some D more than Kat at this point. More I'm watching Kat I'm seeing a guy that cares 0% about D and is happy putting up stats (very talented but leaves me wanting every night). Kat/Jalen pairing doesn't work because they don't make each other better and neither can defend.

Maybe it's not KD, maybe it's not Kat but we've seen this team play D about 10% of the season.

Maybe it flips completely come playoff time and we go on Cinderella playoff run before midnight strikes.

KAT is really good but I'm not sure we can ever get around the defensive downside of having him and JB on the court for 40 mins a night either.
