https://empiresportsmedia.com/new-york-k...Kat and a first pick might have done it. They get an allstar/all NBA PF to play instread of AD.
Knicks get a marquee star player. Its intriguing and I Suppose there would be other moves made in need for a center as well. I love mitch but his injury history makes it tough to think him anchoring the defense and any contention rides on him being in place. A back up would need to be acquired.
I assume Luka resigns with Knicks.
Do we talk about Luka's defense? Is Nico Harrison a complete dumb ass or is there any concerns about his training and body as he leaves his early 20's and starts making his way to 30 that are legit? Lakers will Lose Lebron soon and need that star attraction at the gate. Knicks have departed from the starphuch some time ago.
Article suggests using Josh and Mikal instead with the pick. I think Dallas wanted a star player in return and a PF as at the moment the trade was done that team was on paper healthy was a good concept even for this season. Dallas made Finals last year and had been playing well without Luka. Its Empire Sports so take it with a grain of salt as they put out all kinds of crap like this. We can still have fun with it as a topic.
Present day Luka vs. Present day Towns? With Luka the roster would potent but would need a rebalance
We'd still be a trade "cycle" or two away as we might be currently.
Curious if knicks were really given an opportunity and what the internal discussion would have been. Nalod would value Brunsons opinion and if he shared Mavs concerns over Luka's future health. If we playing pretend GM, my opinion is incomplete.
25 yr old Luka is maybe one of the only players I would have considered moving Jalen for. Absolutely would have moved Towns for Luka.
oh man
I don't know how to interpret this. I saw that headline and fucking screamed. Seriously.
That said, I feel like our roster is completely balanced right now, and I feel like even if we shit the bed, you keep running this roster back
But God damn.. opting out of Luka? Opting out of reuniting Luka and Brunson? I feel like that is the Nova Knick strategy, but better....
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
KAT, deuce and a pick would have been comparable to what they got when you consider KAT isn’t as good as AD but is younger and less injury prone. But I’m good with what we have. Need to just keep building. Finding a 5th starter while moving Hart to 6th man to completely fix the bench should be the plan.
Marks said the Knicks could've made a trade of Dallas accepted a lesser. Well, yeah. OKC could've made a trade if Dallas accepted a better package. Who knows what would have happened of the Mavericks opened up trade talks to more than one team?

We know they approached Wolves about Ant. Did they with other teams?
"Talks" are different than "Approached". I don't think we get all the info all the time?
That would have been nice. Surprised that Luka wasnt traded to an eastern conference team. Surprised that Davis was the best they could do. They seem to be going on Kyrie’s timeline. Which would make sense except when you’re trading Luka. Not just another star. Nico Harrison treated him like just another player. Like Lebron. is just another player. Made the same mistake with Curry.
Luka is super talented but the constant crying about fouls and the games quitting on defense are annoying but we're experiencing that with KAT.

Your not wrong. For a few weeks I saw KAT more focused along with Josh about the complaining.
I think they are sending Kat to the rim far more now and hoping his status draws more trips to the line with increased contact.
He has been shooting less but I think they are playing him tighter up and want him going in.
If Luka was here Thibs would be on his ass about mentally checking out after a bad call.
