KAT is literally better in pretty much all categories.

Yeah, well maybe passing is the exception, but KAT is the better player. This trade would make the defense at the center position even worse.

Sabonis is putting up 19/14/6, the numbers are comparable. It’s about fit. Would Sabonis be a better fit than KAT in NY?

Sabonis can play 4 or 5

Not really well. One of the reasons Indiana trade him is because he wasn't good at the 4 next to Turner. Shot less threes than Kat and couldn't really guard anybody out there.

Maybe you’re right about defense. He has led the league in double-doubles for the last 3 seasons, so Sabonis does bring something to the table.
Don't think so unless we got something else that helped in the trade...pretty similar in terms of passing, sub-par defense and KAT is at a much better scoring threat/shooter.
Sabonis is a better passer, KAT is a better shooter/scorer. Rebounding is similar. Defense....is it possible KAT is better?
Maybe a better passer from the post and high actually makes the offense work better?
Throw me in Keon Ellis and I'll do it?
I'm not sure Sabonis is a better passer than kat. I don't watch much kings basketball but i'm pretty sure the offense goes through him far more than through Kat.
If kat was used as a hub at the top of the key more often with cutters and shooter around him, he would have a few more assists a game. I don't know if we could use the money we would save from sabonis contract though to get a decent bench guy though.
There'd be something tragically poetic in turning Randle into Sabonis after repeatedly dominating him as a Knick.
Lets see what this team does 1st in the playoffs. but if there are changes to be made and we decided KAT simply cannot anchor a defense and isn't ideal at the 4, well... Sabonis is the last guy we should replace him with, he brings the same issue WITHOUT the floor spacing. And KAT's floor spacing is probably the biggest reason we made that trade.
A better trade could be to MIA for BAM and Jamie... solves two issues for us and MIA gets their 2nd scorer.
Better question is would you trade Sabobonis for OG?
That is a hard no.
I respect Domatas game a lot.
I think we are taking Townes for granted and harping on his defensive lapses.
Funny, he cited for doing a great job on Jokic last year in the playoffs.
IN my mind Bridges, OG and Josh SHOULD negate some of the deficiencies of Jalen and Towns.
Like it or not we are team whose defense is the defining character. It does need to feed transitions and some easy points.
As Clyde likes to sing, we are one that is "Moving and Grooving".

What does Scott Perry have as the leading concept for doing this deal? That he and Leon can talk?
Perry is tight with Dumars from working in Detroit, he could take a job with them?
Both are not well run organizations. Sac seems to have ownership interventions and Nola has been hampered by their ownership group that did "rescue" the team but needs an arena upgrade (reading its the worst in the league) and might be looking to sell after it gets its expansion check. Lets not forget George Shin moved the Hornets there for short term cash grab back in the day. Not a great market for hoops.
I would not make that trade. Just need to coach up KAT on defense.

And draw up some plays to take advantage of his passing on offence. As well as draw up some plays where he is the roll man on PnR

Yup yup
As much as I love Sabonis and as much as KAT's frustrated the hell out of me, I cannot do this trade after one season.
No and I like Sabonis he’s a great player but he’s a wing just like OG and Mikal

No because KAT is playing Center 75% of the season
