All season I thought of Robinson as our ace in the hole come playoffs. Vs. Cleveland in 2023 he wa6 such a monster on the boards that he neutralized both Allen and Mobley. In 2024, he was the only guy that could slow Embiid. Knicks don't win the first round without him.
This year he has had a major regression. His defense seems to be OK, but he doesn't seem to have gotten any big rebounds either. His offensive rebounding, especially going up against much smaller lineups hasn't been decisive. Detroit fouls Robinson as soon as they can and the Knicks can't even pass to him because he has such butter fingers.
Props to Thibs for giving the two big lineup minutes but unless something drastic changes, it might be time to give Hukporti a try.
He hasn't looked right since game one. I was worried that he re-injured something because of how bad he has looked lately. I am hoping that it's because of illness as reported and not something else.
Only about 20 games in. He is about another month away from being in shape. At least.
Bit too soon to right off Mitch given his limited time on the court which small setbacks aren't uncommon.
HuK might be the future but one has to be concerned with his injury history both here and previous. Not like he got a ton of time here either.
Its why he dropped in the draft.
Peak Mitch vs. Clev was awesome and it was two years ago. Its why we have Townes.
Im focused on each series and this year only for now. Huk has missed way too much time and I doubt Thibs would go with him even if he can play. If we need him we are fucked as something really bad happend. I gather Thibs would play PJ tucker over Huk if push came to shove.

PJ is definitely a possibility. I think Hukporti at least can catch the ball though right? We're playing 4 on 5 on offense with Robinson out there so far. I think it might be worth it to give PJ a try.
I don't have high hopes for Mitch. This team plays different now, Mitch is too drastic a shift from KAT and he's just not the right guy anymore. I also think injuries have slowed him down in general.
That said, I believe Mitch has been battling an illness so that could possibly be why he's getting pushed around by the Pistons 3rd string C.
I don't think he has been that bad guys. He was sick last game, missed 4 FTs...I get it. But missing FTs...that's been Mitch forever. Biggest thing for him is to grab the damn ball. I have seen too many loose balls go off his hands this series.

Last game Robinson had 3 offensive rebounds. The first one he was fouled afterwards and missed both free throws, the next one he turned it over, and the last he missed the fg, though Hart got another offensive rebound and the Knicks eventually scored. I'm just disappointed that he hasn't impacted the game like in previous years.
He played all of 10 min last game and is ill.
He is not playing his best ball of this career but he just turned 27 April 1st.
Im not thinking we define his career trajectory based on the last 20 or so games.
For that matter he might be a good trade asset.
I don't know if he can gain durability or what his upside is from here. Not like Thibs is going ask him to start shooting the long ball!
We have probably already seen his best in earlier seasons. He’s handy, but matchup specific, and probably more valuable as a matching contract for our next big move. Hopefully he contributes the rest of the playoffs.
He’s been sick. What do you want? Still grabbing boards making an effort. Still hope Mitch is brought back as a backup. Mitch anchoring a revamped 2nd unit could be just what we need to contend. To get past Boston.
either guys shows up to play, or sit him and play Precious.
70% of Mitch is still a good defensive C

Mitch bashing usually does.
