I think you need to play Shamet, because I don't care how well you play, you need to be within the realm of their 3pt volume to be able to make the math make sense.
I agree. I think shamet needs to see the floor vs the Celtics
it's not about the rotation. It's about the bench playing good basketball. They have not, and some have been exceptionally bad. Like McBride. He's given Thibs one option "bench me"
There is no other common sense real world options. McBride, Cam and Mitch need to find ways to impact the game positively or the leash is short.
Look at how close all these games are... and people get salty cause Thibs "doesnt try stuff" it's wild

So do you want to give some other bench players an opportunity or not?

do I want to put someone who has not been in the rotation all year into the most important game(s) of the year? Like who? Seriously... Shamat/Precious? Precious would be the only guy. Everyone else played. Do you think getting Precious minutes vs. matters?

It’s a seven game series. We would likely have to go to seven games to win. I don’t see us having a chance with a tight rotation. Especially if this is the best we’re going to see from Deuce, and Cam. If they aren’t chipping in, I’d rather go deeper into the bench to give someone else minutes. Shamet, Precious, Wright. Why not?
If I'm Thibs, on gameday I'm feeding the guys chicken salad on rye, untoasted, with a side of potato salad and a cup of tea.
What is Boston's Rotation look like.
Ironic that Kornet and KP are vital to the Celtics.
Mitch gives us the defensive chops we did not have for most of the season.
I'd like to see Shamet hit a few quick 3's and bring some hustle defense.

He and Deuce need to make sure Pritchard does not get going.............
Predictions? Im not overly hopeful.
Not on Thibs is the fact Boston as had a core group for 3 years and won 61 games. Thats 10 better than us.
They are the champs. They are really good. I don't know what Thibs should do here. We know the drill. Knicks get a lead and rotate players its "Why he take them out". WE get down its "Why not try something new?"
We get by Celtics it will be "In spite of Thibs"......LOL,
I’d consider going big versus Boston for longer stretches. Our last game vs Boston should be more indicative of the series. And we are in a better spot now than we were then. Yeah, we lost, but not by much in OT after a heck of a game. I’d be prepared to muscle them hard. Those boys don’t want to bang. They want to stand back and shoot threes. I want to put a big body like Mitch on KP and make him work when he is near the basket.
I want OG to attach himself to Tatum’s hip and just use ball denial.
I want Mikal to make Brown go left.
Brunson has to play two ways. He’s gotta stop Derrick White and keep him from getting open 3s.
I want Hart to lock up Holiday. Make Holiday beat us. He doesn’t really have the head for it.
I’d expand the second unit to include Precious. Cam, Deuce, Robinson, Precious gotta come in and just bang with their second unit. I think we are bigger and stronger and can just beat them up. Pritchard is a handful. A ball of energy. But gotta trust Cam and Deuce to lock him up.
I’d just get as physical as possible with this team.

I think this is the only way we have a chance, but is Thibs ready to give Precious minutes? Time will tell.
I hear u fish but Shammet was part of the bench rotation and played a few mins plus he has championship or playoff experience and he’s a vet. Hes also playing as good if not better defense than deuce or cam. Let Mikal start the offense like Thibs has done all season. Then pick the hot hand between cam or deuce.
Has there been significant change or growth as a team since game one of the season?
It’s not just about the bench — it’s about the rotations.
Rotations dictate how effective the bench can actually be.
• Precious needs minutes. Towns is one of the worst pick-and-roll defenders I’ve ever seen. If Thibs had thrown Precious out there earlier, Towns might’ve stayed out of foul trouble — and we could’ve attacked him more intelligently.
• Be physical. We lack reliable perimeter defense, so we’ve got to compensate with physicality. If Tatum gets that switch onto Towns, we’re cooked.
• Payne + Brunson = spacing. Give them some minutes together to open the floor and relieve pressure on Brunson.
• Let Bridges initiate. Stagger rotations so Bridges gets time as the lead creator when Brunson sits.
• Mix it up:
• Post-ups for OG.
• Scale back Hart’s minutes just a touch — he’s grinding, but it’s time to open it up a little.
• Let Shamet get some clean looks — he can shoot, use it.
• KP has to be a focus — we need to hit him consistently.
• Hakporti: Yes, even if it sounds wild. Give him 3–4 minutes. A fresh, physical look in the paint changes rhythm.
Bottom line: we need adjustments. No more standing around letting Brunson carry the entire load. Keep the opponent guessing — they’ve waxed us all year when we’re predictable.
We need Deuce, Payne, Shamet and Mitch to play and play well or we got no chance.
The way our offense is setup now there is very little chance that we can get to the fourth quarter with a reasonable enough score for Brunson to take us to the promised land. So they shoot a lot of 3's huh? Those usually result in long rebounds. We need to put our track shoes 👟 on an run off of those misses. I think that's our chance to keep the score close
Which, of course, means that we need more guys to get minutes in order to not run out of gas from all the running.
If we walk the ball up court every time the Celtics will continue to shred us, like they have done all season

No better defensive strategy for Boston than fouling Mitchell every possession. Detroit showed the way to keep Robinson out of getting into a groove. The best counter might be to start Robinson and bring Hart off the bench.
I agree with being physical and playing it slow. Orlando was able to muck it up and keep the games close despite the huge disparity in talent. Knicks need to win ugly because I don't think they are out shooting Boston ij a 3 point contest.
Somebody create a prediction thread that isn't me.
I'll be hoping for some kind of turnaround storyline. Like OG averaging 30+. Josh shooting 40% from three. KAT playing bully ball and living at the free throw line. Deuce playing like sixth man of the year.
But based on the evidence so far... Boston in 4.
