I think that every game so far the Knicks have no urgency to play hard or they just don't have a game plan. This team is too good to go behind 30 points. and think that they can come back. They have played Boston long enough to know what they are coming with. Yet we still don't have an answer.
I think that changes tonight...just like the DET series...this game is where we see if this team has what it takes...
One criticism of Thibs used to be he didn't make game to game adjustments and he's def improved on that. Now I'm hoping he can show it tonight and also show progress on making those in the game adjustments. So in other words even if we lose - let's do something different if Celts go up by more than 10 pts before it gets to 25 in a short span. A repeat of game 3 would really make me wonder about Thibs's coaching ceiling. I expect it will be a close one!
I don’t think we are getting legit 3s up to have to excuse of just missing them. And if you’re not getting 3s up against Boston your toast.
We aren't getting enough Corner 3s. We can't generate the highest % 3's.
Will they start the game hesitating/passing on their shots? That will be the tell.
Start Mitch and send Hart to the bench. There is a reason ppg goes to 113 w Mitch vs 59 w Hart.
The whole offense opens up with his offensive rebounding, putbacks, etc. Even with Mitch’s terrible FT shooting, he is still a use plus.
We win this series if we take the game tonight. Do it Thibs. A little offensive play calling would help.
It’s iso ball. The offense doesn’t really create shots. The players do. They have really good players. So they make a lot of shots, but it’s not like they do much more than a clear out or called pick. This team is at its best when the ball is moving around.
there's no game plan. Thibs just throws them out there and hopes for the best
For all the legit criticism of our offensive style and reliance on Jalen.
Things sure looked pretty decent last night when we turned up the pace just a bit and had contributions from all of Jalen/OG/Mikal/Kat
Every coach has a strategy and sometimes guys are out there executing and sometimes not...
But honestly sometimes you just make a lot of tough shots and sometimes you don't. We made a LOT of shots yesterday.
Knicks have never started games strong. The starting 5 just hasn’t clicked together in a way that impacts early games. But that being said, getting the job done when it counts has become their staple. Still think eventually hart becomes a better option off the bench and finishing games, and we search for a more fitting 5th starter to start games. Likely a shooter.
