I mean I don't really hate it. He played 62 games averaging 52.7 from the field, 43.0 from 3, 6 Reb, 4 ast, 1.2 blocks, 26.6 points at 36.5 minutes last season. If we can do something at a realistic cost I'm in. The numbers for a Durant/KAT swap work out. I f we could basically turn Randle/Divo and Detroits 1st rd pick into the Slim Reaper, that's a deal I wouldn't walk away from.
Also, KD is guaranteed to get moved. The Freak, I don't think it happens. Pho would get an AS player in his prime in return. Who else is offering that?
the biggest thing is it improves our defense, takes out a huge liability in KAT, and puts a DPOY candidate in the starting 5 in Mitch.

It also adds size and athleticism to the SL.
There's like a non-quantifiable team chemistry effect that has lingered over his last two stops. Age and durability are massive issues...
I am still hurt from Durant not picking us over the Nets.
I saw some reports today indicating Suns are good to trade KD to Knicks but want OG and all possible picks and picks swaps included.
I would rather keep OG instead of pulling another starphuch for a player on the other side of an ACL tear and hitting 37 years old in September... crazy to wager our whole window with Brunson on KD staying healthy the next 4 years.

I agree...pass. Don't understand why we think we need a 3rd 25 pt scorer with KAT and Brunson...I can be swayed that you replace KAT with a different scorer, but the 3 together, especially the expense of a defensive ace like OG makes no sense for roster construction in my view.

that would be a horrible trade, hard pass. KAT straight up is the only thing that makes sense.
I hate KD so much,,, besides, 37yo for a 29yo ALL NBA player is already dumb, they’d have to throw several 1st round picks in the deal, not us !!

great... so you are saying our window is based on Mitch and KD being healthy end of the season and ready for a long playoff run

do you think we make the ECF's this past season if Mitch wasn't healthy?
every team needs health.
Kidd and Durant would be the return of the starphuking era
I really dislike KD and cannot root for him so hell no!

Did us a favor.

I’d do KAT and another asset for Giannis because Giannis is about the same age. He’s also a good guy and great competitor and not a team killing cancer who will immediately shut our window
Do we all just root for orange and blue?
I have zero desire to see KD wearing it, and would not take much pride in seeing us win a championship with him.
I'd say that pure starphuckery was the reason, but I think I'd feel different about say, Giannis in a Knicks jersey.

Lakers. Silver will figure it out.
I hope IT is not hanging around Dolan’s ear again.
Even though many of you don't like KD for whatever personal reasons, he would be the most talented player to wear a Knicks uniform since Ewing
Take out age, drama, and it's a picture perfect move. Add age and drama and it makes you at least question it. But I'd still do a KAT swap in a heart beat. And then try my darnedest to trade for Walker Kessler to pair with Mitch OR structure the deal to get Nick Richards back in return.
There is no doubt in my mind that swapping KAT for Durant will immediately skyrocket our title odds for the next 2 seasons.
