If we go far this off season maybe they can get him if he declines his player option. But if he declines his option are they limited to how much mula the team can offer ? And hopefully his character inspires Dadiet and Diawara. Maybe they emerge to take his spot next season if he cannot be kept
Not 100% on this but if Yabu declines after this upcoming season and wants to resign long term with Knicks, he can only start at 120% of his current contract, not really worth it.
After 2 years, it’s 175% of previous contract (or ~105% of MLE, whichever is greater) and Knicks could go above cap. iHart could have gotten $17.5m per after his $10m second year.
Thems the limit for Knicks and Yabu.

Thanks, calculus seems to indicate he will be a one season stay. Let's enjoy him and let em start for this one year. He would be the answer to the starting lineup. Mitch, Hart, Deuce, and Clarkson are the bench. Hopefully we get Dadiet Diawara some time develop whenever possible

What if local bank or real estate company offers him a large endorsement deal, that is dependent on him being on the Knicks. Would that be illegal ? Could be a something that could arise. And not being cynical such a deal could actually arise naturally. What if Air France wants to feature him being a Knick or something. Or a French Bank to appeal to the local metro area. They wouldn't do the deal if he played in Cleveland or Detroit for example.
Yabu looks really fit and fat at the same time. I wonder if he has a sister, cause that would mean his sister would be slim thick...

Better to be skinny fat then fat fat.A few years ago I got to 260lbs down to 215 last year. Now I am 225lbs with resistance training. I respect Yabu I saw a video of his summer workouts, man trains hard
NYStateOfMind wrote:I think Yabu could lose 15 lbs and be even more explosive with more lift. He barely gets the dunk sometimes, but he is an aggressive dunker. No BS shots at the rim, he is throwing it down. Much better 3 shooter than Precious and does well with the PnR. This seems an upgrade over Precious, and we added a former 6MOTY player, an upgrade over Deuce/Shamet.Hart should come off the bench now. Hart, Yabu the Hut, and Clarkson. That is a solid reliable 8-man rotation. Further develop Deuce, Huk, Kolek, McK, Dadiet, etc. That is damn good depth. I still expect a move.
either he took a few pounds off quickly or we just don't understand what baggy unis do to a man.
This guy looks like OG.....Thick arms and legs.
As for Yabu, he might have a minutes thing were he is fine to keep it to 20 minutes in the NBA at high output.
Or.....
He just here for one year and just enjoy the season. he goes off on Poland and we already sad we priced out?
