More times than not OG does his job when it needs to be done. Get the lose ball, make a steal, cause a jump ball, hit a corner shot when needed.
I concur with Martin, him and Mikal are not stars nor force the play. OG will lose the ball and get blocked but he also gets to the rim and dunks the ball thru traffic. Mikal is just solid. New Debuschere and Bradley! LOL.......
I liked that Dolan came out as being patient. Funny, he is and we have fans calling for the shiny new thing instead of him falling over himself for Giannis! No doubt Knicks were waiting for a Giannis window to open and lets be honest the summer rumors were likley legit. I have no doubt Leon inquired. Its his job to. But if the price gives up the ingredients for a legit run then why do it?
I read this as, we just saw Trae traded at his low point, let's not be in that same situation with a player who we know we don't want on team.

Can they thrive and take over a game on occupation within the right circumstance? Absolutely, Mikal did it 2 XMas ago. But that's not really what you may be thinking, like Mikal is not really able to just decide to play offensive engine and do it like Brunson or KAT, it's more like Mikal/OG are having a really good shooting day or set of games and thriving because of the structure and attention Brunson/KAT create, but Mikal/OG are not engines to the offense, they are high level role players that can feed off of a good system and THEN thrive in those occasions.
Both don't have that mentality nor the handle to execute offense at a high level.

I just looked it up and he's averaging a career high TO's per game despite only playing 32mpg this year, so its not my imagination.
But Mikal, i'm surprised he hasn't had 5-6 games where he just puts up 25-30 and is the main guy. especially in a more "equal op offense".

I think he's definitely capable of doing more. Obviously he's not going to average those numbers here but there are games where the team needs offense and he's tentative out there.

Yeah, he was force fed shots cause there was nobody else. He also shot a career worst eFG% during his full season with Brooklyn. Also shot a career worst 2pt FG% of his career in same season. Career high in TOs in that season. To me that is not good and are indicators of something, because he is not really made for that role.
You expect Mikal to be the same as when he was THE main guy because of their lack of talent on that team.

If people are expecting Mikal to take over games often as a scorer then you might not understand his game. He was never like that even when he was with the Nets. He has never had the handle to do that all his scoring comes in the flow of the offense. What the defense dictates or how well the ball is moving dictates how many shots he will get. Its pretty much what the nets fans were saying on forums before he got traded. The thing with Mikal is he is very good all around and a great 3 and D player. Expecting anything superstar like out of his is more a problem with your expectations. As we have seen with Banes good 3 and D players go for a lot more than people expect.
On KAT, he has a lot of flaws but I want people who think getting rid of him will solve our problems to look at the 2 years of playoff games before we got KAT and look how teams defended us and Brunson. You are entitled to your own opinion but I see a lot of people forgetting how bad it was. WHatever happened to try to coaching people up or adjusting things to help. People are so quick to throw people out because they have flaws.

I just don't think what we get on offense is worth what we give up on D. Even if the team covers for the big getting attacked it causes our defense to be in constant recovery and gives up open 3's.
