Like I said in one of the preseason game threads, we can talk pace all preseason long but we don't have the personnel to execute that plan. It was the same last year and the year before.
it's the same as saying every year that we want to shoot more 3's but we average 22% from the 3 pt line as a team. It doesn't matter how many Allstars you have on a team, if you shoot 40-50 3's a game and miss them you are always going to be playing from behind and you are going to lose a lot of games.
We are a half court team, it's in our DNA
How we do that when there is just 30 teams?
I don't doubt we at or near the bottom though. Did Brown say he wanted us to improve our pace? Or finish in the top 3rd?
We have a “Fire Brown!” thread, right?
We should probably sticky that.

nothing to see here, please carry on
Pretty sure, and the announcers actually confirmed it during the Hornets game, that the speed which was talked about as a plan for this season refers not so much to the running and gunning. It's more about making quick decisions when you have the ball. In a second or two you gotta either shoot, drive or pass. ( "Spray" is what Mike Brown calls it when kicking the ball out to a player behind the 3 ball line)
We have a half court offensive roster. JB is more similar to Baron Davis than Jason Kidd. This isn’t hard.

I really enjoyed the Charlotte game. We inserted two young super athletic freaks into the SL and the energy was crazy. The ball was flying around, players were cutting, its exciting basketball even for a meaningless game.

It is for you.
It was just explained the post before. If you don't agree, then explain yourself.
As for Kidd or Davis? Davis avg'd 2 more assists per game than Jalen. 7 vs. 5. Kidd avg 8.
Steals? Kidd and Davis about the same, and one more per than Brunson.
3pt? Jalen far better than either. Kidd avg's uneven,, he got much better as he aged. Davis in a different era was never that. .320 career.
What is not hard? Brown pretty much implying less iso and move the ball.
Thats not "never iso" Btw.

Charlotte missing Ball and Miller gave it a very different look. More of a scrimmage and tryout for both teams that almost seemed to concert so fans were not totally screwed. It was rather entertaining.
Dia has a bit more to show vs starter quality players but at 20 years old he has pro experience and that Siakim/Olidipo lanky build that can develop. I hope we can maintain him and Dadiet in the pipeline and still contend.
The ball movement by the bench players was telling to what Brown is tryitng to do.
Josh hart will be fine in browns system as he moves great without the ball. Issue will be confidence in his shot which is erratic. That finger is a concern.
I don't expect great things from team to start the season but that don't mean it can't happen. Brown came to a team with a core in place and elevate off Thibs work. That takes time and the margin to go from good to great is not much but its really the toughest part to execute.
