Chauncey is crazy...not a good look for a current coach.

Pablo Torre did hit on the poker games in that one ep. There's probably a lot more people involved.

What's Malik beasley doing?

Waiting and watching and praying his name does not come up today

Right. Both guys have earned over $100M in NBA contract money as players I think, easily. So stupid

I wonder if the timing of these arrest is deliberate to sabotage opening night of NBA.

Billups seems to be the less serious of the two, but both are not a good look for the NBA.

Ironing out the kinks in our merge thread functionality.

I'm almost too sure that the FBI waited until after the first day of the season, which is not a good look. Too coincidental

Didn't Terry Rozier get cleared by the NBA

Gamblers are often people who are motivated by arrogance and ego. Gamblers think they are smarter than the average guy. Plus, impulsivity is also involved.

100 percent!!

Trump just pardoned ANOTHER convicted felon today (binance founder, Zhao). Not implying that this isn’t legit but they obviously wanted to flood the news cycle was this so people would not mention the more recent pardons, the 40 billion Argentina bailout, and the call to buy Argentina beef.

Patel has little credibility and one can't fathom Billups being guilty of as accused. Is he being targeted given he is coach of Portland were trump has turned his attention?

Was he seduced into the action but got caught in a mob web and once that happens its not like he can just all the police!
One can very well imagine that athletes and their enoromous earning power are not under some extortion pressure to either pay for safety and if refused then they are injured or threats to family?
I dont know BIllups at all nor his thirst for action. Jordan had an insatiable appetite for it. I long suspected his nearly two years away from the game had more to do than his fathers death or Monstars from Space. Maybe his pops was executed as a form of payback from something? Im not a conspiracy dude but it was all very weird and still is.

Rozier also does not need the money but perhaps he too got entagled either from the company one keeps, or just seduced to the action.
Many of these guys come from rough back grounds and neighbors that are opportunists.
Beasly appears to have had money issues and his thing might be still ongoing. Nobody has signed him.

Is legal gambling the culprit? Is it epidemic now or are guys just getting caught given the transparency of it being regulated? I think "fixing" has always been a thing since the beginning of time. Boxing when there was money in it, Baseball, and a few hoop scandels over the many decades. Bad refs? Maybe more than we know and maybe they delt with it quietly. No conspiracies to conjure. Donaghy was a dirty dude and the system did out him. One has to surmise more get away with it than not. Same for Football, soccer, olympic judges, and politics!!!!

It sucks when it hurts your team. It damages credibility and the major sports spend a good penny hiring Former FBI and employ others to keep an eye on betting perversions. Personally I don't and never have placed a bet on any sport and don't gamble so im not outraged at all at any of this.
Its woven into the fabric of not just american society but world wide.
Im not against it BTW. I work in finance and don't like to think thru numbers and statistical probabilities as a form of recreation. So no religious or moral issues in my opinion. Its not a relaxing activity for me.

Yes this morning we wake up too Trump cancelling trade talks with Canada over public available radio speech of Reagan from 1988. More distraction from his destruction of the east wing of the White House and ignoring the federal goverment shutdown. IMO shutdown should be the front and center issue.

Really bad look for Billups on these allegations. https://nypost.com/2025/10/23/sports/tra...

Great point about Jordan. It has been rumored for some time that his "retirement" was actually a secret suspension due to an undisclosed gambling scandal that never went public. As for his father, there was a documentary that came out 4-5 years ago featuring one of the guys involved, in which he admitted that it was a drug deal gone bad, and had nothing to do with Jordan's gambling.

I never thought Jordan father would be tied to gambling as Mike always good for the money. IM just wondering if he was being extorted.
Mike turned his exile into gold. He did the baseball thing and turned that into a massive success with :"Space Jam". Rumor is he also smacked the shit out of Bugs Bunny who on the court was not putting in the effort and was very intimidated by JOrdans presences on the court upsetting his leadership of the Loony Tunes personal but Jordan crossed the line with Lola Bunny as his libido was unchecked in Toon town! He dumped her for Jessica Rabbit taking her to Vegas. Bugs had a coke problem after but he got back on Carrots and reconcilled with Lola. Jordan not allowed near toon town or any form of Rabbit population.

I'm sure this is LeBron's excuse for MJ not being in Space Jam 2!
