Damn can you pls f'n stop Dosonmu?
Towns back to driving to the basket and looks a little more like bimself
Bridges made a mistake not going after the ball he thought it was off Giddey.
Than we bail them out against the clock
So many fouls not called on our drives
Knicks just can't make that final push
We have gone cold at the worst time
This team is kind of a joke so far
It’s just too bad we got down 20+. No matter how well you play after, it’s a tough hump to get over. Knicks need to start rattling off some home wins and play defense.
Growing pains. I'm not worried.
At least we have our draft pick.
Sorry but I think Brunson is #1 shooting too much #2 making careless TOs and #3 really not defending anything
We finally get Kat playing normally/aggressive and Brown benches him for about 20/30 minutes on the bench. Then decides to put him in with 5 minutes left and takes Mitch out rather than taking out Deuce a (-22 tonight). As expected Kat laid a turd in final 5 minutes.
Josh Hart playing great with a -18 in 15 minutes with 0 points, 1 rebounds and 1 assist....bringing back memories of ex-Bulls Toni Snell.
Bulls basically averaged 34 a quarter tonight and as their perimeter shooting fell apart we kept letting them take us off the dribble.
I will say while watching this one at times during the game we looked pretty damn good but we are soft defensively and not just Jalen/Kat.
Shamet hurt us in 1st half with some wide open bricks.
Deuce with the -22 makes me look at Bulls guard and I see 4 or 5 I'd take over him including Giddy, Dosonmu, Jones, Heurter and injured K White. Am I wrong? Always been a Heurter fan - would like him at 6'6" off our bench and a guy that handles, passes, moves and defends.
Factoring in Deuce salary I guess hard to take those guys over him but for sheer impact I might take all of them for various reasons.
Poor Clarkson seems like ivy other time down court someone throws him a grenade with 2 seconds on the clock 25 feet out.
On the plus side it seems like Mike Brown is unlocking bridges in a way thibs couldn’t/ wouldn’t.
On the negative side, he needs to figure out how to better utilize KAT and to a lesser extent Hart.
Also, the love affair with Shamet. Whatever he thinks shamet is supposed to be, we need to find a better version of that.
This might just be a lost year for Hart. He had trouble shooting before and now with a mangled finger he is going to hurt us. No one guarded him in important games before. Now knowing he is going to shoot worse people will play off him even more.
This start of Mike Brown’s career with the Knicks is very weird.
It seems that we intentionally treated preseason as a camaraderie even and the first stage of a longer period of lab experimentation. The season, and with it meaningful games, has started, but Brown is still experimenting like the games don’t matter. And considering the expectations for this team to compete for a championship, it was a little understandable. But this team doesn’t seem to exist but for brief moments, the rest is just experimental madness while the other teams have a plan and go out to execute it.
Knicks already seem like a team that got late to the party and are still trying to catch up, but should they? Offensively they still seem to have no idea how to fully play, and the defense vanishes in a worrisome way. The Mitch Rules and the very weird injury situation hasn’t helped, but this start is really a mess in ways I’m not sure are fully justified. Maybe it’s for the best, as expectations might be lowered, although I don’t think it will happen.
But in general a very, very messy start to the Brown Era.
We have more wins than the Wizards, Pacers, and Nets… combined.
Formidable.
