I go back and forth on him. In general I want to say he’s not very good. And whatever Thibs and Mike Brown think of him, I want to find the better version of that. Because he clearly sees real time, and seems to be upgraded to a part-time starter here (when Mitch is out) and a true rotation player regardless. The best I can say is he’s almost 3&D-ish I guess ? His shooting numbers have been really good as a Knick. Are you fine with him as a rotation guy for what he brings, or do you feel like we need depth that is strong enough where he isn’t a rotation player? Is he good enough to play 15-20 mpg on a championship team?
he's solid but like most shooters he needs rhythm and sometimes he's not doing enough to get those minutes. Kind of like DDV who really took off after he started getting alot of minutes and shot attempts. I hoped he could be another DDV for us that could find another level with us but it hasn't happened unfortunately. Still a decent 3 & D guy at least.
Probably our best pure shooter though, we have guys like OG, MIkal, Deuce who can shoot high %'s from 3 but kind of need to be set and open.
he plays at pace and with an intensity that is hard to not play. I think he earns his time but the problem is he's not very good.
He does make plays if you give him time. Extra passes, tough rebounds. He's a nice player next to your finesse guys also because he's such a lunch pail player. We are also very small w/ Kolek out there and he seems to be the one sitting while Shamet plays

Feels like he's earned the 9th spot in the rotation which is fine.
If everyone is healthy come play offs assume we start 2 bigs and the bench is just McBride/Josh/Clarkson and those are the 8 we play. Maybe Yabasele plays himself into shape and into the rotation
I see Kolek/Shamet as 9/10 guy who will get some regular season time but neither crack my post season rotation of 8 today
I think it's time for him to start rocking head bands or go bald. He's in the same situation derrick white was years ago. So far, he's been OK as a bench guy and underwhelming as a spot starter. I think we should've kept Matthews.

I really like his defense. I think he is greatly underrated there. Just watch him play d next game. I wish I had some numbers to back this up, but the eye test says he is better than solid. His point of attack defense is my favorite part. Yes, bigger players had some success getting low position on him and scoring that way, but that's his only weakness, really.
His shooting is spectacular. He is probably our 5th best 3 point shooter behind Brunson, Towns, Bridges and OG. McBride and him are very close. And he is probably our 4th best defender behind Mitch, OG and Bridges So there is that. He always plays so hard, he never takes plays off. I absolutely feel like he is a rotation player on a Championship team.
He is one of those guys that does everything right on both ends, but still gets scored on or misses the shot. His shot is streaky. His effort level and smarts are great.

Ya I have a guess that he is the ultimate role type guy who coaches love too.
At 2mm per he is great fit for this club. He does what is needed for Browns offense and will fill in nice when others are injured.
Good foot speed on defense man to man but will be abused when taken in the paint.
