Kolek getting a smidge of a chance and not fucking it up
We need to have a convo about Duece Man!
He has been automatic lately from three. The best two way guard we've had since.... who? We've been waiting so long to bring in a player like him I can't even think of who to compare him to.

Deuce looking like the player who could have been last year but for the injuries. He always feels right on the cusp for something big

JR Smith without the knuckleheadedness?
John Starks?

I suppose Starks would be it. JR Smith wasn't a bad defender, but I wouldn't consider him to be on the level of Deuce or Starks.
Nice to see Kolek getting some minutes, he's playing well, pushing the pace, and hitting his shots. He's looking more sure on his attempts, not hesitating.
Deuce fills the void left from DDV. As did Shamet.
Clarkson also important.
Kolek stepping up is his big opportunity.
Knicks and Deuce just handled it all so well. Kid came out early and developed. Not a straight ascent. He got his role when he signed his contract extension and seized the opportunity. Mutual commitment. Most valuable thing in the NBA is an opportunity.
The kid will get paid when its his turn.
This is Koleks time to show given Shamets injury and Brogdens retirement. Those opportunities don't grow on trees either. Many players with greater talent sometimes don't get them.
I'm keeping Hart as a starter. He just plays better there and Mitch only plays 17-18 mpg so Brown can find those same minutes off the bench. We can always pivot and start Mitch against Jokic or another elite C.
It also limits the need for Yabu until he starts playing better.
