Just kidding
Yabblsele.
I gotta say this was a throw away game… on to payback vs the 76ers … without Kat and hart we needed someone other then Brunson to go off, and that didn’t happen… the mermaid played a good game … Yabusele needs to loose 40 lbs he’s my least favorite Knick, unworthy of being a Knick. Should have given his minutes to MO D . Not giving MO the minutes was bad development decision… there’s no developing Yabusele, and at least Mo is fun to watch and has a future.
I remember saying this in a game thread a few games ago. People worry too much about numbers and not enough about the impact that player has on team dynamics. The second teams don't have to worry about a player hitting an outside shot our spacing gets destroyed. Hart being able to hit 3's this season mixed with Kat made sure our spacing was always on point.
Well at least the Wizards won again tonight?

They'll end in 8th place, just our luck to knock down our second round pick.

I don't think most folks criticize Kat's talent, shooting, spacing ability --- it's his dumb ass fouls, decision making and soft D that makes most pull hair out.

Hold on - wouldn't 8th place net us the 16th pick in 1st round or am I way off here?

Yes but he meant 8th place in the lottery.
This almost felt like a scheduled loss. Also Hawks are way better without Trae. Their offense flows better and the defense is lockdown. I would like to see some more Diawara. He sort of got demoted and not sure why other than just Mike Brown trying different things and Diawara just being a rookie.
We could easily lose the next four games.
I’m not gonna panic about the last two losses, although they are unnerving. What I’m really panicking about is our suddenly vanished defense. We didn’t have a lot to begin with, but it was improving, at one point becoming a top 10. Now it’s just embarrassingly gone, like the team is just content with making a late run and winning, or else just accept the loss and move on.
I was liking the progress made in all facets, especially mentally. But this regression defensively is alarming. And on a related note, what’s wrong with OG? He has been horrible defensively lately. He seems to really be our defense and that’s scary because even though he’s a great player, he’s very inconsistent.
It’s the cup curse. It’s out of our control.
Knicks have showed some cracks ever since the cup final. Every game we won, we fought from behind and relied on Brunson heroics, whether it was versus a good team or a shite team like Indy, didn't matter. That kind of stuff will catch up to you eventually. That said, slumps are normal in the dog days of the season. OG lost his shot, Mikal has been invisible, and Atlanta went all out to stop Brunson. Atlanta is much better than their record and much better without Trae. That team can defend their ass off when Trae isn't out there. The are most likely on the cusp of an extended winning streak after beating the crap out of Manny and us. They looked really good last night.
The honeymoon period with all the youngins might be over as well, we need our guys back. Imagine last year playing this many games without multiple starters / rotation guys?
Knicks most likely have another 5-10 game winning streak coming soon. Season will always have its ebbs and flows.
Need another big tho. That to me is the biggest need for the deadline. Yabu ain't it.

I really wanted home court advantage all throughout the playoffs but barring OKC getting destroyed by injuries it ain’t happening

Yabu sucks. Dude can’t defend a stop sign I know he’s not the only reason but the hawks were picking on him

Not only defensively. OG has shot 35% FG over the past 5 games and 5 for 28 from 3pt =18%.

I think both Mikal/OG have got ALL-STAR in their heads and neither are all-stars in my book ---- primarily because they are both limited offensively. OG all of a sudden is trying to do too much - reckless out of control drives to nowhere, terrible passes and taking a number of forced mid-range & 3s. He's doing too much offensively and maybe it's hurting his D. In the Spurs game we had a double digit lead and on consecutive times down the court OG fouled Olynk who wasn't even in a scoring position or rebounding the ball. Those fouls helped put us in early penalty and Spurs ended up shooting 20 more FTs than us.
I just think both are concentrating too much on offense rather than letting the game come to them and making clean decisions.
Last night first defensive bad sign showed up with us up 11-2. Risacher gets ball in awkward spot on left wing, rises up for very tough 3 pointer with clocking running down and Brunson hacks him for no reason. Another dumb foul in a long line of dumb plays by what should be a smart team.

Yep - we need to wake the hell up.

Yabu is expert at handing the high screen ball hand-off to the other team and then throwing his hands up in air as other team scores on other end. Regardless if he hits a few buckets he is getting roasted defensively and he rebounds like OG/Mikal (both very poor rebounders).
