And for all we know, he'll be out the next three games for load management.
How did Mitch do recently against Gobert, Wemby, and Embiid?
Give the man a contract, just don't make it too big.

He looked so in sync with his jumper and made all his usual hustle plays. He also did the best job on Avdija. Clutch shots by OG, Deuce and JB! KAT played well too. Anyone else notice he did not argue with the zebras even once? Good move by Brown to finish with Mitch though. Sucks Kolek didn't play but it is what it is.
Yes!!! I saw that! This really gives me hopes that Towns can turn around his relationship with the zebras at some point. He was boxing out too!!! That's huge
@martin, can you query the database for what percentage of ramtours' posts mention boxing out?

Oh it has to be like 30%ish at least
I'll need to get that number over 50% in order to get more consistent
75% of his posts seem like they were under the influence of alcohol. That's the best I got

Begley/Macri (I think Begley) saying 90% chance Mitch will be gone this summer as a # of teams that could use him with significant cap space and adding should move him to obtain future value prior to deadline.
I know we need a big to defend and rebound so catch 22 to move Mitch but at same time not always available and often exposed due to limitations in his game.
I keep coming back to a player that can handle the rock, facilitate but still defend - preferably with some size.
Maybe we can grab someone like a Sochan or even a K Anderson that can defend some 2-5, handle a bit, make the right pass, defend the post some and rebound a bit --- but those guys we can get without Mitch.
Don't really love Gafford over Mitch - Gafford like Mitch seems to have lost some athleticism.
Wonder if Pelicans would like to protect Zion/Queen with a Mitch --- wonder if something could be worked out for Herb. Maybe you move Mitch for wing upgrade and find a replacement center otherwise/somehow. Center has less impact vs Mitch but maybe wing helps and you have long term $$$ on books rather than Mitch walking for free.
Easiest thing to say is don't trade him BUT not sure Knicks front office works that way with guys who don't extend. We keep Mitch, fall short in playoffs and Mitch walks out the door like (I-Hart) for free ---- that would hurt.

Mitch don't want an extension? Maybe he wants to test the market? Go where he wants to go? Maybe Nola? Maybe not.
This is about now, so he is ours and motivated this season and we are managing his load. That is present value! We got a window for NOW!
That not "Nothing". He was here 8 years. Worry about his replacemnt after the parade!

Selling high is one of the hardest things to do as an organization. That's why it's very rare you see teams do it. But Mitch is really a sell high candidate right now. He is an absolute game changer, but anyone you want to sell high on probably is. He comes with catastrophic injury risks, probably a forever minutes limit, and most likely wants more money than he should get with risks considered. We have huge depth problems at C, so I'm not sure flipping him for an asset makes sense unless we get a legit player back as well.
If we have to pick between extending Deuce or Robinson, I am probably picking Deuce. I can't see a world where we re-sign both to the deals they want/deserve.
A wrinkle to this conversation is what we do with KAT. In a world where KAT is actually traded, I can see more scenarios we retain Mitch and try to rekindle the platoon we had with him and iHart. There might even be a world where we get iHart back as I am seeing that OKC most likely will move on from him.
We have had depth problems at center for years and the reason is Mitch Robinson.

Does iHart fit in coach Mike's system? Have we lost objectivity given our fondness for his 2/3 of one season he thrived here?
Bucks fans are booing.
Giannis says he won't ask out.
Mid season trades of magnitude rarely produce superior results. Mitch is and has been an issue.
This team even as it stands is still better record wise that what we had previously either with iHart, DDV, or Thibs.
We thought this team was ready to pull away from the pack in the east. Bit of a disappointment.

I am going to start a thread on OKC. Their cap situation is scary starting next year. Projected tax bill: $181M. They legit have too many good players on their team and also multiple high picks still coming in. They are not even playing Nikola Topić yet. They will have 3 max players next year (Chet Jalen SGA) in the $40M range until SGA goes to $60M in 2027-28. They can certainly trade their players away for future picks but they still got too many good players. Something is going to change big time between OKC, Bucks (who need lots and lots of young players).
I haven't watched but Jalen is having a career worst year. Shooting 28% from 3, can't speak to anything else.
Dort and iHart on team options next year and trading players and picks are their escape route.

Knicks, Bucks, OKC all seemed primed for changed in the offseason.

Deuce's skillset is more easily replaceable for cheap. Shamet comes close himself. Kolek has a different skillset but he could take Deuce's minutes as well.
Mitch is the best at what he does, he changes games in the playoffs against the best comp. Would be hard to lose him. I think we need to move on from KAT 1st and foremost, he's not a serious player and i don't think you can win it all with him.
