There's a system?
Can someone fill me in on this erudite system that is so complex the players are uncomfortable after 70 games?

I think there are stages teams have to go through to be champs.
Its entirely possible 70 games is not enough.
Pano's, Im not saying we come out of this year with a ring, but what we don't know is what they are changing/implimenting/graduating to? I can only guess, thus can't explain.
NBA players tell us what we want to hear. If they still figuring things out perhaps thats the truth and its not gonna happen this year.
We see glimpses of what can be but as fans frustrated by the lack of consistancy. I the glass half full or empty? Some of us the glass has no bottom.

He’s trying to make this more of a full court pass/fast break team when the roster is all half court players. Josh Hart likes to press and does it a lot but he’s really a half court player on offense. This is why I wanted Malone we needed a different coach because Thibs was not getting along with players and his schtick got old but this is reeking of replacing Pat Riley with Don Nelson

Translation: “We need to work on how to get me 25 shots!”
Not sure how you work on facing bigger and more athletic players? Which seems to be the main issue for the team. That, and consistency from long range. Starters were 7-29 last night.
I love Brunson and I'm so grateful he signed here and help turn this team around but sometimes I wonder if he should really be the 'captain' cause he's not very good at it. I don't feel like voice has much meaning in that locker room.
Don’t know what it will take to win. Too young to see it. Was in diapers.
BUT……
I know what it would not take. Can’t win a chip when your top two ball hawks are shoot first players.
We will win games and win a lot of games.
KAT?
No KAT no rings……
Cap?
no pass no bling………

The Deuce has to be very loose!

I think the real issue is the the fact in these games towns isn’t touching the ball every time down or close to it …
Jalen needs to play more off the ball and the offense needs to run through towns . Exactly like shaq and Kobe .
This coaching staff I’m convinced isn’t to bright .
Can’t think of a team that can stop towns from dominating the game . That isn’t the case with Brunson at his size teams can easily shut him down or make it really hard for him to be himself …
If you run the offense through towns it makes the game easier for everyone on the floor .. when you run your offense through brunson it doesn’t make the game easier for the rest of the guys on the floor…
Run the offense through towns and we will get to the promise land. If we run it through Brunson we might get past the second round .

OR
Is Mike browns offense trying to learn KAT and JB????
Maybe the system is not broken. The system doesn’t know what to do with two shoot first play defense second type players.
It’s hard to surround them with 1 trick ponies and expect to be consistent. It’s hard to build around KAT that refuses to push back and rather comply. JB watches his team synergy from sideline, then comes in and continues to ball hog.
Will be an interesting playoffs
Because the Knicks are that good or needed to get back into the game?

This is why I don’t want to hear a thing about Brunson not being that dude. This is mostly him. He can flip a switch more than any player in the league and it’s not even close. The problem is we need to stop relying on him to carry us in 4th quarters all the time.

I’ve heard an nba analyst agree with Starting deuce instead of hart would create more space on offense for KAT and CAP two man game. the starting 5 is better in half court. Josh is better in full court.
With the second unit, hart can lead the team and drive that full court attack. I think Josh will be even more impactful than simply standing around while their center is guarding him. That’s embarrassing.
Deuce will guard the top PG/SG
And the opposing centers will get cooked by Towns.
JB can play off the ball a little more with deuce.

I agree with this. I get the injury this year messed things up , but Deuce getting an extended run with the starters is long overdue. He brings the shooting and Point of attack defense. He also gives them secondary ball handling to help out Brunson. Hart makes more sense as a change of pace 6th man. His impact is dulled as a starter. It makes too much sense and has for a long time.

Yes, they definitely should do this.
Hart is so much better as an X factor coming off the bench.

Brunson is a Goddamned Sniper last 2 minutes of the games.
Defense will help win the Championship
I'm going to take Brown at his word that the regular season was for experimentation and learning and now that it's the playoffs, the games actually count.
It seemed weird that until the last week or so the Knicks really shied away from running Brunson/ KAT PnR, yet they were able to show that when they do it almost always results in a clean shot. Knicks can run that play throughout the playoffs and teams will have to adjust on the fly.
We all remember the GSW death lineup of Iggy with the starters. Kerr held that lineup in reserve to spring on opponents, knowing that the more opponents saw them, the more comfort they would get defending it. I think the same holds true with Brown. Once the playoffs start, I expect to see Brown be a lot more aggressive with his lineup choices.
Finally, I just hope that age and experience matter. Unless Miami gets in, Brown should be the most experienced coach in the East, hopefully he can Jedi mind trick a few wins.
And don't forget, Mitchell Robinson won't be sitting out games in the playoffs. Knicks were 40-20 with Robinson and 13-9 without (.667 vs. .590%). Also on average the games Robinson played in were vs. tougher opponents (.512 vs. .488 opponents win %). These aren't huge differences but at least we can say the Knicks won more vs. stronger opponents whenever Robinson played.
Another thing that gives me optimism is that the Knicks super power, especially when Robinson plays, is rebounding. There's a 1.5% drop in FG% over the past 5 seasons between the regular season and playoffs for teams that make the playoffs. Sounds small but it was the difference between the third place Pistons and 14th place Bulls in terms of FG% (more or less the same for EFG%). More missed shots means more rebounds, advantage NY.
