Shamet is positioning himself as a very high level 3&D guard. Is he better than Divo at this point? IDK but you have to keep him.

Honestly I love Deuce but he might be the guy I look to move and not throw 15-20M at. I'm just not sure this team is the best place for him. He brings challenges with his inability to run point and could probably fetch you a really good return. This team needs a real backup floor general behind Brunson whether it's Kolek or Alvarado or someone else. Hard to fit Deuce in the picture with that reality and with how good Shamet is with better defensive size.

Shamet and Mitch must get locked up and will cost less IMO.

Gotta keep Mitch, IDC if he only plays 40 games a year, he's a DPOY in the playoffs. that could have been a finals matchup and he was key against Jokic and even Murray.

Deuce is expendable IMO, we haven't even missed him. Shamet is a shooter and it seems he plays better with rhytm and more minutes. and his defense is underrated. He's really looking like the DDV lite I thought he could be finally.

That being said I don't think Deuce would get 15m, seems more like a 10-11m MLE ish guy. There's not much more upside there so I think teams would pay him for what he is, which is a solid, but undersized 2 guard. B/c Deuce just isn't a PG, the team runs so much better with Kolek at Point.

but we can also just keep Deuce for 1.5 more years and let him walk if anything. sometimes a guy has more value as a player than a trade piece.

DDV offensive rating 120.7 defensive rating 113.8

DDV is Laundry Shamet lite, if anything

We need to stop with DDV obsession. That was like years ago. On this team we cannot find playing time for better players ....

Not if he's flipped for the players you mentioned. I love Shamet but I'd trade him and Clarkson in a heartbeat.

Such a great game and definitely wouldn't mind 7 more of these in the Finals!

Brunson is so freaking good! He continues to amaze me! Took over that 2nd OT! So blessed to have him on our team! 42 points!!!

Mikal owes the Captain some free Chipotle for saving him in that OT even though I don't think you should make that type of call with 0.3 secs left. Not like the guy was in position to tip it back in or impact the play in any way so why call that?! Bad call but I actually thought this officiating crew was one of the better ones we've had this season. And kudos to Mikal for knocking down that last 3! But we can't have these type of games from him especially when we are shorthanded! 8 shots in 49 minutes is not acceptable!

KAT was great! I know he fouled out but I liked his aggressiveness! He seemed to get energized after the stitches too. I think we are too hard on him honestly. He leads the league in double doubles, hasn't bitched about his decreased role and still made the All-Star team! I'm rooting for KAT! I've seen signs he's starting to figure it out again.

How about Big Country 2.0! Crossed over and blocked the Joker!! Poked the ball from Murray in OT! Nice minutes from Clarkson! I like him as an emergency 10th man. Shammy with another big game! My pick to win the 3pt contest! Glad Diawara's ankle wasn't serious. That back up role is now his with Yabu gone.

8 IN A ROW AND REVENGE TOMORROW IN DETROIT!!!

Fun to see but what was joker thinking — that Mitch was going to hoist one?

Mitch is in a good spot right now

The 2023-2024 New York Knicks greatest team in the history of the entire NBA to be eliminated in the second round.

Shamet is clearly the better player. Superior defender and more consistent shooter.

AND Shamet is already on the team! This FO has always looked to upgrade talent not move back or laterally. Y’all need to forget The Big Ragu and embrace the Big Motza….he can ball

Kat looks a bit trimer of late.
He came out smoking after he got stitched.
How do we defend him? How does one hate him as some do?
Yes he whines. Bit of an enigma keeping him from complaining all the time.
He is obnoxious. Jalen and Josh also complain alot. In fact, most of the NBA does after contact on a shot.
To hate him as Barganani? Not even close. Hey, have at it but what is the benefit?
Bridges was awful. The call? to be fair it was in regulation and blatent. Why? It was all ok if Bruan just fell but Mikal arms showed more of a push. It sucked. We won the game. I loved he hit that three. It was clutch. That he took it at all took stones.

All this hate on Bridges and KAT and nobody talking about OG getting the clutch baskets and keeping Murray in check down the stretch?

We won the game! 8 straight!!! Other guys stepping up. NO Josh, no Deuce. This team is deep!

BTW, KAT? Shot 9-13!.......Fouled out? Yes. Joker got him good. Some silly fouls, some good ones. Not sure he had an offensive foul?
He was +12, right there with OG and Jalen. 3 offensive rebs. 24 pts. Solid game vs the best big in the game.

Big one vs. Pistons coming up!!!

15M will be the full MLE when Deuce is a FA. Someone will offer him that IMO. He's a truly elite 3 point shooter (45%) and plays high level, aggressive POA defense.

I don't agree with your last statement on Deuce. I agree with the sentiment overall, like with Towns or Mitch, but Deuce stock is high and could probably fetch you a really good player at a different position or a solid 1st round asset, and the team almost functions just as well with Shamet at the backup 2.

the problem with trading Deuce is, we can't really combine salaries or take on more salary without including someone else important, so how many good players are really only making $4-5m for us to trade him for?

it's a situation where the best return for us might just be playing him out the final 1.5 years.

[SNY] One NBA team told Ian Begley that the Knicks value Mitchell Robinson more than any other team in the league: "Because of that, I assume they're going to do what they can to re-sign him - do what they *have to do* to re-sign him"

i agree, gotta keep him at all costs within reason. We are a great fit for him too because we dont need him to start and play 70 games or starter minutes. we just need him for the playoffs mainly.

Season and playoffs not over yet but I do wonder how much of an offseason discussion went on between FO and Mitch about his extension, his health, and how'd they use him this year with the team medical staff and how much he needed to buy in on that so that he could stay healthy and fresh and build throughout the season. Which, if he kept to it, would help everyone be at a good place extension-wise.

Or something like that.

Mitch looked incredible last night moving. A 7 footer looking cat quick. He is one of one in the league. When healthy and in shape. And he can be a devastator.
