Trying to remember any young players we've had where their game and their bag just continues to grow before our eyes.
Every game he does a little something new that gives you a glimpse of his overall potential. This was a kid that I thought for sure we'd either bank in Europe or he'd be back in Europe in short order. Even with the glimpses of his length/mobility in summer league I didn't think he had the skill to ever get by people.
He's really something - particularly how he's flashing such an extensive offensive skill set.
Maybe I'm missing some obvious guys....
- we've seen Deuce mature but I always thought his shot was pure (just the results were bad early on).
I'm talking more the exposure of pure ball handling, shooting touch, euro steps - he even flashed a burst of speed last night I didn't think he had, also the dunk the other night. CRAZY how he's coming on.
Love Mo ! I know a lot of people see Siakam with him, but he really doesn’t have the same game to me. He plays more like a guard in a wing body. Honestly, he’s so good out there on the floor. I wonder if we’re holding him back until we sign them to a multi year deal. He’s a taller more athletic bridges with better handle and vision.
He is the future !
Why? Are the other threads not sufficient?
Rose needs to extend him. We have RFA rights but some team out there may get wise and offer him a significant contract this offseason
Not much more to say other than I hope we can develop him and he’s a missing piece soon as well as helps lead the next iteration of whatever the Knicks are.
I can’t believe you bitched the thread title.

Hate to say it, but young KP was like this. Mitchell Robinson also, but it was a "defensive bag". KP was a raw rookie shooter who Phil forced to learn post game, but by year 2 he was doing dream-shakes on dudes and early in year 3 was looking like an MVP candidate. Mitch was just a human pogo stick in year 1 fouling out every other game and after a few years had DPOY instincts.

Hopefully Mo has a better attitude than KP

In his first season Mitch was leaping over cars and blocking shooters from logo land. Then he left adolescence behind and had to adjust to his growing man body. The injuries mounted and he had to be re-tooled to account for his physical type and be conditioned properly.
The Mitch you saw last night is Big Meetch in the best shape he has been in for years. He is still huge, but leaner and faster than when he bulked up and started breaking down. Whatever the training staff put him through refactored his body so now he can move like when he first started playing, but now he has experience under his belt.
This Mitch is a game changer.
Mo-Mainia like most lead to Mo-disappointment.
Mo-Video Clips create Mo-inflated expectations and fans get Mo-frustrated.
Mo-BingBonging is fun.
He'll be on a short leash given he is Mo-Rookie than Mo-phenom.
I don't think Thibs would have done this. He'd have been on a Mo-Shorter tolerance.
As long as he can execute his assignments I gather he gets minutes even if the shot is not falling.
If he can give us quality 15 min a game that will matter!

And the guy that does not want to hear the whining about the hangover.

I don't think pickle juice works for that

His vision, decision making, handle and passing stand out to me --- not to mention the 3 ball thus far.
he has great knack for the long cross court bullet pass and also finding an outlet when he gets himself into trouble.
have to think superior youth training in Europe has helped him adjust.
Pacome is also starting to push - wonder if Mo has had positive impact there as well.

You are correct Todd - missed opportunity.

One kid that didn't show any offensive game until he left us was T Ariza --- had a shot like Sochan and ended up one of the very best 3 & D in the league for a long time. Crazy transformation on his release.
