Right, and no one here can 100% say that Lin didn't prefer the Rockets situation over the Knicks. At the time, for the Rockets he was positioned to be given the keys(Pre Harden trade months later) as the featured go to guy. While in NY he would have had to prove and earn Melo's trust after repetition. Pathway to becoming a superstar was clearer with the Rockets on paper. 3 year deal, keys to the franchise, ball out and cash out again while in prime.
He very well could have been pushing through his agent for the Rockets to find a deal that Knicks would hesitate in matching for that preferable situation. Would not blame him if it was the case. If this was how Dolan viewed it. That Lin wanted the Rockets (because they offered all of that potential). That Lin worked with them through his agent to create that contract that would put the Knicks in a bind in order to create his escape from Knicks matching. Then that's why he would feel a way about matching.
Lets look at it as if the Melo Beef is not as big as we project it to be. I tend to think its not the big deal as rumored.
And, lets reduce Dolans pettiness to business. He did have a a marketable name but how much valuable was that compared to what the rockets were looking at?

HE was not that good!
Also look at what happend the next season and how the money was spend.

OKC's could not touch the Spurs on pure talent alone so they ratched up the flopping and fouling. We know the refs are ALWAYS on their side. I've never hated a team for killing the sport of basketball much like OKC.
I want the SPurs to win. We can't compete with a team full of floppers. We have always had a bad whistle but KAT will foul out in the 1st with all this flopping.

Honestly, the fight and resolve this team has had for the last 3+ seasons is crazy. Now we have better tactics and generally fresher and faster so we’re even better positioned for comebacks if needed
I’m far more worried about OKC and really dislike their game as a fan. They like Detroit, Orlando, and houston (disclaimer not sure if it was still the case this year) play dirty on defense w constant fouls, grabbing, scratching etc challenging the refs to blow the whistle and disrupt flow and make the game less enjoyable to watch. And then on the other end and way more so than the other teams flop and foul hunt. Now to be sure a lot of teams do that. It’s a matter of degree and infuriating because good refs should be able to deal with that.

The SGA flop thing is incredible and perhaps if Knicks get to finals vs. them it gets called out more. Its pretty awful.

His play vs. Wemby was ok by me. Wear his as down and it worked. Kid could not hit a jumper and was settling. iHart was planted until wemby swiped at him! This is what Mitch and OG will have to do to him.
Personally I think OKC is is more vulnerable as I fear Wemby more. The Flopping goes both ways. KAT might want to do more of it? Works for others. Its honorable he does not, but we do want a chip! LOL.......

Have to admire both teams last night. that was a very hard fought game. Vasell and Castle are really good and only getting better!
