You posted about a month ago that they met with him. They must have real interest. Hope they take a hard look at Jaden Bradley in the coming days.

Reserve bigs are probably Tarris Reed, Zuby Ejiofor and Henri Veesaar. All different types of players but project as good backups.
For combo guards, I think Meleek Thomas or Sergio de Larrea are possibly good prospects who could develop into good bench scorers/ playmakers

I only remember because when I opened the thread it the first post that came up for me and it was dated 5.13.26.

Key here I guess is viewing the type of player they are looking at. Someone who is a pure shot creator/shooter. Makes sense.

Also feel like they should give Mikal more free reign to be that guy.

ANALYSIS
I love the freedom with which Thomas plays. He’s fearless and could become one of the 30 or so best shooters in the world once he hits his prime. That has a ton of value, and if someone takes him in the 20s thinking they can moderate his game a bit, I wouldn’t be stunned.

But there is too much to clean up for my liking, and I’m skeptical that he can fix all of it by the time his rookie deal runs out.

First and foremost, Thomas is a poor team defender who ball-watches so much that I don’t think coaches can have him on the floor in the NBA early on. Second, his shot selection and lack of vision are completely out of whack. That could be fixable, but I’m not convinced the inconsistent vision will improve. Finally, I worry about Thomas not decelerating after he gets moving. He goes from fast to slow. He’s excellent at going from slow to fast with his first step. But he needs to slow down to play more under control.

I could believe Thomas becoming a useful sixth man by the time he’s 25. He has talent. But I’m not convinced that the first team that has Thomas will get the most out of him.

The combo guards like Evans, Thomas and the kid from Spain are all very young and may not be ready physically. Kevin McCullar is 6’6”, 210, 6’9” wingspan, plays defense and had a great year in westchester last year playing point forward (7 assists per game) and shot 38% on catch and shoot 3’s which was always his biggest weakness

I don’t see us drafting any combo guards at 24 or the second round that will be better than McCullar in 2026/2027

No way he is there at 24. My question is, does he box out?

While there will be a lot of smoke. Morez tracks as this has been consistent for a while now. And would be the ideal prospect to nab.

Morez is supposed to be a lottery pick. It would take a lot to get him. If we’re going to trade up I’d prefer a stud PG like Okorie to lead the second team and play with Brunson to alleviate pressure. 6’8” wingspan, deadly first step and he can score

Zuby can be drafted at 24 and is every bit as big, strong, fast, etc… as Morez

I like Henri Veesar at 24. He’s a PF or stretch 5. Body still needs to fill out because he’s 6’11. Can shoot and block shots.
