Knicks · ECF Game 3: Knicks @ Cavs, KEEP IT ROLLING 5/23 8pm (ABC) (page 14)

DLeethal @ 5/24/2026 8:55 AM
Knicks look like the 2004 Pistons, 2011 Mavs, 2014 Spurs. Balanced attack, well oiled machines, that took out "Super Teams" in the finals.
DLeethal @ 5/24/2026 8:57 AM
I think it's a misnomer that NBA caliber defense is simply "playing harder". That's not what is happening with KAT. This defensive transformation is primarily scheme related in my opinion. NBA defense is rarely 1 on 1, that is where "playing harder" can come into play. But in terms of 5 guys on a string, that's all schematic, that's what the Knicks are doing and KAT is helping anchor.
HofstraBBall @ 5/24/2026 9:22 AM
Five wins away boys !

Shamet was big and has been for some time.
Bridges continuing his big turnaround since start of Hawks series.
KAT playing excellent team ball.
JB continuing to lead and play aggressive while getting other guys going.

Comments on Thibs and importance of bench proving to be true.
Winning trumps all opinions. Loved Thibs but hated short rotations.
Seems Rose has pushed all the right buttons. I for one will be the happiest sitting back and watching it continue.
Go Knicks!

nycericanguy @ 5/24/2026 9:28 AM
this team has so many depth guys that can beat you any given night. Shamet or Deuce can go off for 15-20 or score 0, but it seems someone always steps up.

Game 3 on the road when you're up 2-0 is one of the hardest games to win cause the team that is down is expected to play their best with max effort and desperation and this was a wire to wire win. We never trailed in this one. The focus from the start tells us this team is hungry and united! That's 10 playoff wins in a row!

It starts with Brunson and Brown. They have these guys all on the same page with one goal in mind. There is no ego's and they all play as a team! Brunson is unreal! 30 points on 19 shots and did whatever he wanted. Cavs have no answer for him! Strus tries to play tough but that shit isn't going to work. Kudos to the zebras for calling the proper fouls when Strus tried to bump him 50' from the basket. LOVED how KAT played in this one. His drives were under control and I loved how he euro-stepped on some of them instead of trying to run over his guy. His passing was great too. Great give and go with Mikal on that play. Mikal continues to play and shoot out of this world! 22 on 11/15 shooting! I'm glad I wasn't one of those who gave up on him. Mikal is a seasoned vet who's shown he will play his best when his best is needed. His defense continues to be outstanding! Solid game by Hart and I thought OG looked a lot better. He moves better and better with each game and the 6 FT attempts was a good sign. We will need OG to play at the level he was before his injury in the Finals.

And give Shamet a standing ovation! Hit 3 huge threes to put this one away. He also hounded Mitchell all night! Love that he's on this team! Always reliable and gives it his all!

Great game by Brown. He subbed Mitch at the right times and didn't allow Atkinson to try the hack-a-Mitch crap. I read Mitch is going through some personal stuff. Hope he's OK but he needs to lock in and be better. He's a step slow the last few games. WE NEED HIM!

Did not expect 3-0 but here we are! One win away from the Finals! Can't be satisfied though! SERIES IS NOT OVER! Like the guys keep saying, we have to act like it's 0-0. And kudos to the fans! I bet we can have a game on a remote island and we will find a way to get there and invade that arena! SHAME ON THE NYPD FOR CANCELLING THE WATCH PARTIES! Come on! This is a once in a lifetime thing! Man up! I get some fans are drunk idiots but I read it was only 6 arrests among 6000 people! You're going to punish 5,992 cause of 6 idiots?

Nalod @ 5/24/2026 11:09 AM

Cavs are good. Not great.
Matchups matter. Raptors gave them a good scare and they survived.
They beat a good not great Piston team. In the age of parity there are not any great teams. Even OKC. They are the champs and credit is theirs. That SAS is this good is they have the Alien. HE scares me more then OKC's depth!

The age of parity excludes the 3x star roster construction. Now it needs more depth/role players. Leon figure it out. Giannis trade value will be interesting. Who gets him and whats left.

Knicks? Thibs was exiled becuase he had yet to get out what we are seeing the last few weeks. Took Brown a full season! This is not easy. These guys are playing brilliantly! The hate, doubt, what ever was warranted until proven otherwise. Yes many including some of us are eating crow.

Cavs played really well last night. Large parts of the game were back and forth. Still were defeated. We making them look confused on defense.

Jose hate? He is a set up guy. He is a pace changer. His role does not always look good but its about what he brings. Maybe he deilvers what comes before the knock out punch. Knicks remind me of some Giants teams that would wear down opponents then deliver the blow in the 4th. Its the whole body of work and its historical domination thru the east.

The west has had a better line up of teams clustered at the top and why SAS and OKC might be seen as favorites. Their records showed it. The east was deeper. Knicks are getting all kinds of media love because they are earning it now. They are plowing thru the conference not like a 53 win team. One more than Clev! Funny, the biggest homer this year was Dolan who had a Win or bust attitude as perhaps he and the FO understood the talent was there but getting them to play to it as a group was another story.
They figured it out.
few of us other than life long homers with no conscience like NYMentality truly believed. Why should we? There was no evidence this knid of run could occur.

I don't know what the future holds for the knicks other than im enjoying the journey. I have been on record all year as Pano's like to say "Policing". In other words its ok to be an idiot becasue we are fanatics. Thats a personal decision, but My point was not all seasons end as hoped. Last few years when team went further and further it was a joy.....At 3-0 unless karma has a historical collapse or Cav's surge we should prevail to the finals. Do it with health while others get banged up? Do I dare say the Gods/Silver would smile upon us?
Only in hindsight! LOL

6 arrests dont' tell the whole story. That Bing bong frenzy is pretty awful and perhaps NYPD saw what might be boiling up. Fandom is not an excuse for bad behavior.

I don't really dislike the Cavs.

But I do enjoy watching Harden and Strus lose.

Can one of you basketball nerds explain what brown has done particularly on defense? They were each targets last year and now????

IMHO Brunson and KAT did not really figure out their chemistry until this playoffs. The Knicks were good during the regular season this year, the stats and record prove that out, but I just don’t think everything was optimal until game #3 in Atlanta.

Regarding the defense, I think the guys - all the guys, but in particular KAT and Brunson - committed to it. This helps the role players around them, both offense and defense, and then everyone eats.

Simple as that for me.

yes but they were able to play together during the season too. End of last season they were staggering because they seemingly couldn't play together on D or offense effectively. Anyway whoever is responsible deserves major kudos

did anyone watch the postgame show when they had OG being interviewed

What a disgraceful bunch of idiot, clowns. Barkley repeatedly asking OG what his first name is and then unable to repeat it. First off, with precious screen time that's what you ask? If you're really curious, some decades ago some people connected a bunch of computers together all over the world and allowed ordinary dumb dumbs to use it to find out answers to questions like that. Second, it literally seemed like grade school -- yes grade school -- bullying of the new kid. c'mon man, OG has been in the league how long? been on a (Toronto) championship team, been an all NBA defender etc. and you don't know his name. What a clown.

Guys should apologize.

Strus is really annoying. I'd probably like him if he was a Knick, though. That kind of player.

He'd have to lose the man-bun though.

I just wanna say this a great forum,

Enough about you. What do think of me?

I have been watching Knicks highlights all day. From everywhere and anywhere on YouTube. Just, totally immersed in these moments. Me and dthe "kids" watched the 4th quarter of game one again because they didn't see that game. I felt like it was live again! We are truly watching the greatest playoff run in the HISTORY of the game on so many different levels. Is this real? Yes. It is. I think.

The world is on fire and this team is cooking! After we win it all. We elect Jalen Brunson as president and he appoints everyone on this roster and saves the world! Like that X Men/Knicks comic!

I hope you are all enjoying this holiday weekend as much as I am. Let's go Knicks. Cheers!

That entire post game was like the Knicks didn't win the game and steamrolled their way to 10 straight playoff wins. It was pathetic. They talked more about what Cleveland didn't do right. It was terrible! So we put the music on and turned them off. No other team in the history of the league has been treated like this. I hope they keep it that way.
