Knicks not playing super sharp but Cavs don’t look like they really that super desperate either

We're good. They took their shot and can't even build a lead on us so far.
Brunson Burner hasn't been ignited yet

Yeah. It's unfortunate but I think he's served his purpose already and has no utility left. I doubt we bring him back next season
I hope not. Kolek is a really good player and needs that spot
I was hoping we gave Kolek some run throughout the playoffs but I'm a little weary about throwing him out there randomly now, considering the stakes. Not playing him sooner is definitely con of the Mike Brown experience.

Yeah, I'm fully on-board with playing Clarkson/Shamet over McBride/Jose. Not even sure why are bothering with the latter anymore
I don’t mind playing McBride but he has to have the attitude that the team needs to win his minutes. He can go off on a tear but he needs to get going. Mitch too.
Anyone notice t hat Jose mopes when he leaves the court. Jesus ur playing like shit. We don’t need u moping too much
He consumes to much time and honestly other than the GTA stuff is not an effective defender
Ernie Johnson has the best laugh on TV.
Cavs bigs have owned Mitch this series. So too have the FT gods

Yes, it is not advantageous to randomly play guys. Kolek, in particular, as a PG, needs some consistency to enter the game in rhythm ready to run the offense.
So I don't expect to see him in the playoffs outside of garbage time.
But there is no other PG to back up Brunson. We're running offense by committee when Brunson sits.
Jose is not even moderately competent at running the team. And, to your point, if there is a player you could use randomly, it is exactly Jose for that purpose. Sure, play him 10 or 11 in the rotation and on occasion bring him in to get some energy. But it is Kolek who should be in the regular second unit rotation instead.
This remains my primary gripe with Brown, whom I think otherwise has been a good coach.

Landry and Jordan are our two most effective bench guards at this point
I agree w this but we need to roll out McBride too. He goes nuclear and game is over. But he needs to realize that’s his best impact.

This
I am in the minority I think in believing Mitch generally has strong hands but tonight he’s been butterfingers. And they’re only playing him in last 2 minutes. Play w force. They’re not going to hack a Mitch then.

Agreed. Looks like they don’t have a plan tonight since leaving Josh wide open didn’t work

McBride can't stay on the floor too long if he's not sinking his shots. If he can't hit anything in his first 3 attempts you have to pull him. His defense is not close to Shamet's in impact and even Clarkson's defense has stepped up and he's 6'5". Deuce is small. His wingspan is decent, but he is not really as good on defense lately as his reputation has him to be.

No objections to any of that. Next season, there is no way Kolek isn't our backup PG full-time. This season we just had too many like-sized veterans and he felt the crunch. I also wonder how much of this is an attempt to low-ball Kolek who will be extension eligible in short-order.

I agree. I don’t think brown trusts his inexperience. Too slow to guard dm and too small for harden so even though he can move the ball he might be too much of a liability ility on D. And generally speaking we are moving the ball wo him . That said I really like the guy and think he will continue to develop

It is possible. They did the same thing to Deuce and as soon as he extended his playing time ballooned. Diawara too.
