Knicks · NBA Finals Game 3: @Home, Knicks come back to MSG for some HOME COOKING! 6/8 8:30pm (page 3)

Things are set up well for Brunson to have his efficient game imo.
Josh needs to stop committing dumb fouls as he often exerts real pressure on defenses when he is advancing the ball. He was actually missed in the last game. I know people would just as happily see him sit when he is in dummy mode, but when he isn't is when the Knicks are best. He is still a key member of the starting unit and he played something like only 18 minutes in game 2
Let’s keep politics to the other subforum so that all Knicks posters can enjoy this one. Thank you in advance!
He said he's attending the game. Not sorry for mentioning something that is going to happen at MSG for Game 3 if he keeps his word. He's bringing the politics to the Knicks, not the fans. If he's there then people are going to comment on it.
Comment on it, just in the other forum.

no one is suggesting an apology and I understand the instinct to comment, and the emotions behind the comments. But there's another subforum (off-topic) for commenting on thoughts about the president etc. We should keep this particular forum/topic a place that all fans can enjoy without risking it turning into politics which is off topic and prone to be divisive. this happened some months back.
And I responded to you that he said he'll be at the game so it is relevant to the Game 3 thread.
You think if he shows his face and the boos rain down people are going to take it to a politics threads? It is a Game 3 event then.
I can respect your request outside of this context, but you're micromanaging something that is slated to happen at Game 3.
the last time politics came up back w Gaza etc I brought the issue up concerning forum etiquette and Martin gave me some moderator controls, e.g., deleting posts. I have exercised that extremely sparingly. My take on it, was to keep things content neutral concerning politics within the sports forum. The game thread should be a safe space
So, if for example, Trump showed up and garden went crazy in a positive sense, like it has at football games etc. I would say the same thing I'm suggesting here. More than one person has suggested that the seat prices are so expensive that only hedge fund guys can afford, so it might not be out of the question to get a Trump chant.
Comments about politics should be in the off topic forum because it's clearly not about the game and instead it's meant to haze or praise whatever politician. And I do get that some of the comments are intended to be funny but you should admit that it's a slipper slope that we have slid down quickly in the past.
Indeed through several posts now I suggested and reminded people of the off topic forum so everyone should know where to post their comments and jokes without injecting them into the game discussion.
Martin, I would appreciate some guidance here if possible, if I'm misinterpreting the takeaway from last time.
Thank you everyone for being respectful

I was being respectful.
Context matters, therefore I acknowledged your wishes, but disagreed with you in this instance because something happening AT THE GAME is material for the GAME THREAD.
If anything happens while we're watching the game you want us to muzzle ourselves because it doesn't fit your topical comfort zone?
It's a game thread. Stuff happening during the game should be allowed to be spoken of without censoring.
wouldn't be surprised at all if they start out tight or win/lose a blowout. SAS has played in a ton of blowouts this playoffs.
also I am kind of surprised by some of the discourse over the games.
a lot of people saying the spurs should've won game 2. I guess from a narrative and betting perspective they were heavily favored. but the Knicks controlled the entire second half up until the 14-0 run.
game 1 was more spurs choking the game and knicks stealing it
game 2 was more knicks choking the game and holding on
one interesting tactical outcome of both games is we never really saw the Wemby roam off Josh hart. SAS is going to treat game 3 as a do or die and we're going to see the kitchen sink this time.
I think they've got to do it to see if it gives them a good start to the game. The Knicks also have gone stretches where they wont matchup hunt Towns in favor of matchup hunting for brunson, so this plays into SAS favor too.

Personally I don’t care if you wear ladies underwear, drink orange juice out of the container or fart in a jar and sell it on eBay…….just talk about it in the other forum. Granted, it doesn’t get the traffic of the main forum but that should tell you everything that you need to know.

The president is coming to the game everyone. That’s the context. I’m not sure why we need to discuss the context of the context cause it’s happening.
IDK I think it’s the dumbest visit and dumbest decision by Dolan considering the Knicks vibes going on. It’s distracting already

Personally I don’t care if you wear ladies underwear, drink orange juice out of the container or fart in a jar and sell it on eBay…….just talk about it in the other forum. Granted, it doesn’t get the traffic of the main forum but that should tell you everything that you need to know.
OK, thanks for your opinion.
My opinion is based on a simple logical principle:
What happens during the game is subject matter for the game thread.
i 100% agree with you
i made a dolan comment and that got deleted too
wtf is going on here?
it’s a headline event taking place AT A KNICKS GAMEDeleted? Not by me most certainly.
The president is coming to the game everyone. That’s the context. I’m not sure why we need to discuss the context of the context cause it’s happening.
IDK I think it’s the dumbest visit and dumbest decision by Dolan considering the Knicks vibes going on. It’s distracting already
thanks boss
that had been my point. dolan’s on the cusp of a total turnaround in his legacy and he’s so tone deaf he does this and shoots himself in the foot
Chandler wrote:I deleted the posts and urged people to post in the off topic forum if they wanted to discuss it. The fact that he’s coming had already been posted in the topic and remains postedMy vote is you think his presence is post worthy then post away in the off topic forum and don’t risk the distraction grow in this forum
Deleting posts is tough and I think we should do as last resort; I have restored. Typically, I do not delete posts unless it is absolutely necessary. It may be a nuance but it's the visit and not a discussion of what our politics are.
My preference is to keep to the Knicks. It's just unfortunate that Dolan has chosen this path. It's a distraction to even us as fans and forums.

Candidly Chandler, I am grateful for your help and I'm glad you took the steps you did. Forum mod'ing is a tough one that satisfies no one. Please keep it up and we shall figure out the middle ground. This one is on me for not speaking up sooner.
I'd love for this thread to be about the Knicks basketball and another win. Let us make it so.

Like Mikal says:"Stay desperate!" I'm doing my part. I haven't even touched PornHub for the past two months. We all need to make sacrifices to help push our team to the promised land.

Knicks got a lot of threes and orebs bc of crossmatching.
If he's there then people are going to comment on it.
no one is suggesting an apology and I understand the instinct to comment, and the emotions behind the comments.
Why did you delete a post I made when I said " Perfectly spoken as a man without a Alba post ? how was that disrespectful and worthy of deletion. I was being humorous and moving off of the issue. No one overtly discussed politics and issues we specifically disagree with in any detail. Just commented on somones presence bringing a distraction and inconvenience to the fans. Dolan shouldn't have done that. That's discussion worthy it going to be part of the history of the game. That's not discussing politics but discussing a distraction to the fans. What makes this forum so special is we as adults self moderate and respectfully interact without moderators having to police us. Other forums do lots of deleting and heavy moderating but not here. Who knows with all the millionaires at the game Trump may get a standing ovation
