It’s hard to judge in summer league how these guys are actually going to be… like guys can rack up pts when they are being guarded by guys who will have trouble getting on g league teams . There’s been plenty of guys that light up the summer league and don’t amount to much come regular season.
But some guys have the IT factor, The German kid has shown that, and nickel for his lights out shooting . Can’t believe both of these guys slipped to us deep in the second round!!

Jaden Akins having his moment today. Probably the best single game performance by a Knicks guard in SL.
Akins is a quick and shifty guard who creates space for his shots or shakes defenders and gets to the rim.
Probably will be on the Westchester team if no one picks him up.
Other players today: Robbins continues to be an intriguing C option. Nickel has shot 50% from three again today.
Nobody else is notable today.

The chase down blocks were nice, but when he gets the ball at the top of the key or high elbow he often just passes it back instead of attacking or backing his man down or at least starting some action to pass out of. He does not behave like he has a scorer's mentality, but he doesn't make up for that with any creativity or passion.
He dawdles around and then does something good, but he has no intensity. I don't think he has what it takes to be an impact player. Either it is a lack of killer instinct, being too deferential and being unable to focus for more than a few seconds at a time, but his nature is too soft overall whatever the reason is.
Without a major mental adjustment, he lacks the mindset regardless of what talent he may actually have. He looks like a dude who can't wait to go outside for a cigarette break.
Knicks may be feeding people a line to make it possible to trade him. It is possible there is no interest around the league. For Deuce there will be, but Dadiet may have no takers.

yeah I must agree Dadiet looks to have little interest or urgency. Doesn't grab the opportunities reminds me of Ntikina in that way. He should be relishing the spotlight to move up in the priority list if not for us then for another team. Maybe he already has the NBA rookie money and smells a another contract in Europe and then retirement at 25. Heck for you and I, not a bad life.

I think Deuce still has a chance to come back longterm. Dadiet is toast. He’s only still here because he’s future matching salary above the minimum.

There is certainly his contract numbers and the stupid second apron but I don't know why the Knicks wouldn't have time or the patience unless they need to make a bigger move that would involve his salary or roster spot?
It's not like there is a rotation spot that Dadiet would need to fill right now unless there is some major injuries? With Deuce, Shamet, Clarkson, Mo ahead of Dadiet within the wing rotation, I don't know how he gets minutes even in the upcoming year. And those are just he bench guys without Kolek and GTA.
I legit do not understand the remarks that Knicks need to move on from Dadiet in the "now" timeframe based off of what we have seen in either the GL or SL or garbage time. IMHO you can only tell so much and it's so limited to be worthless unless you do very very well, and even then it's not really a good benchmark.

Yes, as I reported, the best single game performance by a guard in SL this year.
If he played like this all the time we'd be buzzing about him quite a bit, because it was a very impressive game for him and he demonstrated qualities we'd always need like handle, creativity, spacing, awareness and efficient scoring.
But due to our roster situation and it being only one game, I'd assume he'd need to have a historically huge game tonight to even be in any conversations about making the club.
Therefore, unless he blows peoples' minds tonight, he is still a Westchester player this year if he doesn't get picked up by someone else (which wouldn't shock me considering how good he looked yesterday).
