certainly a head scratcher.
Theory going around is the Knicks want to resign him at a lower cap number than his qualifying offer. Maybe they are right. Hopefully or we could be looking at Andre “now slower than Eddy Curry” Drummond getting major minutes next season.
Huk is a solid 3rd string Center but he needs more development and experience. I do not trust him with the Mitch role full time. We need an established vet in that role! Robert Williams or Nick Richards are really the only guys on the market who can come close to replacing Mitch.

If true, probably was agreed between both parties. The penny pinching apart of a trade they have in the works?
Huk to the 76ers for 1 year $3.4mil.
Diabate???

I was critical of him this year, but still expected him back despite not extending the QO.
Wouldn't mind bringing Jemison back as third string.

Don't we still have to fill that slot? Are we finding someone cheaper than that?

Exactly. We could’ve had him back for like 2.4 and he was fine as a 3rd big with potential.
Trey Jemison for the win?
We lost Huk for nothing?!? We likely could have gotten a second round pick for him. Knicks rolled the dice that they could resign him and lost the bet.
I honestly think Leon was expecting to bring back Huk at a cheaper rate but can't fault Huk for taking the money plus he'll get opportunity to play more since Embiid sits out games.

Same.
I admit I’m getting a bit nervous about our center spot. I really hope they are trying their hardest to keep Mitch and then find a cheap third stinger (that could’ve been the last 2nd rounder we picked, but that’s over with).
maybe if anything this pressures the FO to go into 2nd apron.

Ok, after Mitch just bolted to the Celtics, now I’m worried, championship edition 😵😵😵

I bet it was more about playing time. He moves to the backup with a lot more starting opportunities due to Embiids health
I had high hopes for him. This sucks

Absolutely. Sign a one year deal with the assurance of more playing time to increase his value for a bigger deal later.

Bol Bol will be back from his injury in January

If they find themselves in the second apron then I support the return of the “Fire Dolan” chants regardless of how good the team is.
