Knicks · Ya know what? F’ it. Lets just get LeBron. (page 4)

It would be comical if the Knicks fanbase got all fired up an only to watch LeBron okey doke us and sign with the Heat. Deja vu all over again. Not to mention the concept of an agent encouraging a player to sign for less money is double comical.

Maybe it's a character flaw but I personally cannot ever forgive LeBum for what he did in 2010. Forget that he signed with our biggest rival Miami, he spent the previous two years strongly hinting he was coming. Made Donnie Walsh give away Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph in the process. Remember all the comments about how LeBum loved NYC, the Garden and how he always wore a Yankees hat? Notice how he doesn't wear Yankee hats anymore or since. He also chose Greenwich, Connecticut as the place to make his decision which is our backyard. He also flipped water bottles a few years later at the Garden which is beyond disrespectful and classless!

And point blank, I do not like the guy. He's not a good person imho. After he lost in the 2011 Finals, he pretty much told everyone he was rich and people were poor so it didn't matter. Remember China controversy? He's gotten coaches fired, teammates traded, he's always the victim, he's just an asshole!

We are spoiled having good guys on this team like Brunson, KAT, Hart, OG, Mikal, ect. Why would you want to bring this asshole into the locker room who will make it all about himself and his stupid documentary?

Would you be so kind as to tattoo this on the forehead of anyone who posts they want Lebron in a Knicks uniform?

TIA

Analytically, he already signed with Cleveland.
MaTT4281 @ 7/4/2026 2:10 PM
Taking the Knicks out of it, as an NBA fan in general, I would be interested in seeing him in Golden State playing with Curry. I don't think there's enough on that squad to actually make too much noise, especially if someone breaks a hip, but it would be fun to watch on a night the Champs don't play.

It could be a threepeat. It could also be a torn something or other on a guy that never had any business being here. I am ready to forgive and forget if he signed for a vet min. Because that's all we got. Yes, we could build a dynasty, for sure. But is it something he wants? Let's not forget how we won. We won in the most dominating fashion. So there can/should be some continuation. We are the fking Spurs with Timmy

Well, that's pretty morbid of you Herr Frankenstein

LeBron gives teams a sense of no loyalty and no heart . A emptiness if you will, like you know he doesn’t care about the team. LeBron only cares about LeBron.

If he was loyal he would have never left Cleveland and his legacy wouldn’t feel so fake. The second he went to the heat and started a super team. He sold his sole for a championship and ruined his image and the nba in a sense. He started the whole ring chasing mentality.

The same can be said for Durant . Excited that Brunson changed the nba for the better .

If lebron goes anywhere other than Cleveland it will only tante his image even more and separate himself even further from the goat in jordan …

Go have your farewell tour in Cleveland. And salvage what little dignity he has left .

He still won’t win a chip but at least he gets a home farewell tour.

If he goes anywhere else it will be fake as shit.

Lebron, did what all of us would do, get a better job, for more benefits and money.

Alpha1971 @ 7/5/2026 7:52 AM
Knicks traded for OG while the team was in litigation with the Raptors. Knicks traded Yabusele and got Alvarado, and traded with the Nets. I thus feel the Knicks will manage to trade for a young center to replace Mitch. If Lebron wants to sign with the Knicks, he would be wise to do so. If he doesn't his loss
Nalod @ 7/5/2026 8:26 AM
I admit, as does he that "The Decision" was a bad one.
He cares about himself? NBA has a history of MVP players were were ego centric and cared more about thier careers. Long list.
As for Dissing the Knicks? Nobody forced Walsh to move from Randlolph and nobody won with Jamal until he came off the bench.
Knicks were a shit show in 2010. FO was not the Mecca, it was Donnie being forced by league on Dolan who took control of the presentation and it was awful. HIs Posse disrecpecting Phil? Yes, bad look. PHil was turned off by the arrogance.
Young Lebron was an ass. Hew was empowered at a very early age and as brilliant as he was on the court, he was immature off it.
Then there is the guy who thus far seems to have his family life in order and I dig the quiet philanthropist thing he does.
The Loyalty thing? Dan Gilbert warranted little.

We can go on and Still I won't convince any haters otherwise. But as said, its a low probability so no need to harp on it.

I feel similar. I respect the man. I’d love to see him play for us. He leaves a trail of all stars in his wake. Makes young players better. Say what you will, but I don’t think guys like Kuzma, Clarkson, Reaves, etc. get paid without James’ impact on them.

Allanfan20 @ 7/5/2026 9:28 AM
Just for the record, I am not some LeBron fan and for the longest time, I was VERY against him coming here since 2010. As much as I liked the idea of LeBron coming here in 2010 I still HATED the idea of superteams and couldn’t stand LeBron even more. What came in first? LeBron. I rooted for the Hamptons 5 over LeBron. It made it easier that the Warriors had Klay and he was my favorite player outside of the Knicks.

And then the Knicks won the fun way. As much as Brunson was a superstar and king for us, he was a huge underdog, as were the Knicks. There were times they felt like no match for the Spurs yet they overcame that. NOBODY can ever take that from us. Nothing can be traded for that. We won the best and the most ultimate fun way.

And then Mitch leaves. I’m sorry but both JV and Drummond will not replace Mitch. We have a major hole that won’t be filed now. It’s going to be a lot harder to win.

That’s my logic for getting LeBron. We won the fun way already. We can stick him at the PF spot and have him be an elite defender and distributer. He does not have to be the man. He would not be the savior. We don’t need that. We need his huge body and he is smart as hell on the court. He can keep us where we need. I’m just not against that anymore. If we kept Mitch, I’d say hell no. Mitch is gone.

He’s probably not even coming anyway so I am forcing myself to warm up to Drummond.

Respectfully, this senitment while understandable and human nauture. Essentially is the same boat as what you are upset about.

We can only offer the vet min (or tax payer MLE which they won't do). We are currently hoping that Jonas V becomes available, or a trade for Diabate...

If Lebron James is available to be had for vet min. You do so because it give the Knicks the best opportunity to win another championship. If he is coming for vet min, then he is allowed to make up for any prior wrong doing by helping the Knicks win another championship. Also keeps Bron off signing with the Cavs or Philly etc.

The players we have on the roster & culture created are the perfect type of personalities for the fit. NY is the market that can handle this storyline. Done right with the massive Knick fans doing Knick fan things while Bron plays his final season. This only further boast Knicks basketball and Knicks fan branding for the future. League also would be in more favor of the Knicks due to the ratings this would provide.

On the court - Being able slide Bron to the PF spot and push Hart to the bench would be huge. The cappable ball movement amongst that starting 5 would be elite. Sliding OG to the 3 would be huge. The mismatches the frontcourt generates as teams now have to decide if they want to put their C on Towns or Bron. Bron actually having an effective post game for smaller mismatches and surrounded by shooters. Bron creating a 3rd hub player which KAT & Brunson both become free to roam etc etc.

Bron most likely doesn't sign here, and maybe your post is based off knowing that, so you reject him first. But its a no brainer, Brunson, KAT, OG, Mikal, Hart if they agree should def reach out and check the vibes.

You're right he ain't coming here.
I'll tell you where he's going. San Antonio.
Makes perfect sense. He's the ultimate veteran to lead a young team with so much talented youth. SAS doesn't give up a 27 pt lead in game 4 with LeBron.
He gets one more ring to tie Kobe. Gets a ring with 4 different teams. And San Antonio pretty much locks it up.
You heard it here first.

Does Wemby let him? I don’t think he does. I think Wemby wants to surpass him not add to his legacy.

I think when SA turns him down, he picks the place most likely to beat Wemby.

We are only talking about legacy, right?
