Havent' we all.

Maybe it's a character flaw but I personally cannot ever forgive LeBum for what he did in 2010. Forget that he signed with our biggest rival Miami, he spent the previous two years strongly hinting he was coming. Made Donnie Walsh give away Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph in the process. Remember all the comments about how LeBum loved NYC, the Garden and how he always wore a Yankees hat? Notice how he doesn't wear Yankee hats anymore or since. He also chose Greenwich, Connecticut as the place to make his decision which is our backyard. He also flipped water bottles a few years later at the Garden which is beyond disrespectful and classless!

And point blank, I do not like the guy. He's not a good person imho. After he lost in the 2011 Finals, he pretty much told everyone he was rich and people were poor so it didn't matter. Remember China controversy? He's gotten coaches fired, teammates traded, he's always the victim, he's just an asshole!

We are spoiled having good guys on this team like Brunson, KAT, Hart, OG, Mikal, ect. Why would you want to bring this asshole into the locker room who will make it all about himself and his stupid documentary?

First off Thanks for getting that off your chest. YOu said your piece and thats cool.

I kind hated on the guy early on for much of the reasons you listed.

Before that, Magic, Bird, Jordan, and Kobe. They were lighting rods for media and the critics.
They are ego driven showman. Jordan was a sociopath winner who was driven beyond most. Family? Teammates? All got treated like shit unless they contributed to HIS cause. Kobe? Beyond arrogant, Shitty teammate, hard to coach, rapist, shitty father and husband. Then he grew up seemingly in the public eye. Not over night. Took some hard lessons to find some level of humility. But he did it.
Thats my take. Not all will agree.
It think most modern top 5 players can be shitty at times. Durant, Harden,Westbrook, and CP3 have all flaws in their character in the quest to win/be relevent/succeed financially. ANd boy do we hate them when they exersice their powers to move to a different team or want a coach fired.
With each new generation we get more and more exposure thru media and social media the last 20 years has exploded the narrative.
Some more than others. Giannis has pulled some shit in his day. The brothers? Well didn't that block otehr players who might have really deserved a spot/opportumity. Coaches? You betcha. He strung out the Franchise so he would not ask out and things did not exactly go well post championship. But he is a good guy. Harden? We call him out as fat, Lazy, etc, but the guy puts up numbers. Might be empty, but teams want him. Kyrie? Plenty to talk about there.
All these guys have flexed their powers. Lebron has played 23 years and has had the greatest career. The stats say that. We can argue that Jordan is the all time winner, until you get to Bill Russell who won 11 chips in 13 seasons. OR Wilt as the most statistically advantageous of all time with some freaky deviations. Jerry West? "Loser"!!! LOL........Not quite. Differnt players in differen eras'.

So I look at Lebron in hindsight and obviously he has some shitty moments. I stand by his "Dissing" of knicks was warranted as were were a shit run franchise then. Walsh moved on from bad contracts who did not contribute to winning anyway. All old news. I hated the decison. It was stupid. Ego driven, bad advice, etc.

I hated the "Heatles". But I loved when he left Miami and went to Cleveland. The 2016 finals vs. Warriors was one of the greatest performances. Warriors won 73 games that year. Thats what made that chip special. That got me to respect not the person but on court and the work this guy puts in. Roids? Not rumored and if he can, so can many others. But still you have to put the work in.

Embiid and Wemby? LOL.....on court flopping and elbows are not cool. Off tthe court? Maybe they great guys. Lebrons flopping? Comical. I laugh too at Josh's and sometimes Jalens. Much cred to him on leading league in drawing offensive fouls! That takes balls! He got a bad cred ouside knick fans for it. They boo without warrant.

Brunson? He got a rep for not being loyal in Dallas? There are fans in Dallas that blame Cuban for messing it up, and they should, but also Jalen drafted in second round and Dallas gave him the opportunity and some (not me) think he sort of fucked over Dallas. I know, "Don't mess with Jalen", but Just talking about objectivity here. Me? I freaking love the guy! King of NY!!! But he did what was best for him and his family by coming to NY. This was before the champsionship mind you.

Thats my take. Might not agree with it but Im trying to not take in good vs. evil but just take in the on court performances and leave most of the otherstuff alone.

All the above applies execpt Paul Pierce! ON and off the court a real jerk.

Steph gets credited with being a high character teammate and leader without the kind of drama the other current greats are associated with. Perhaps he is built differently than your parade of flawed heroes.

Oh and Fck Lebron. I expect him to chase his next ring by joining Giannis in Miami. It will just make beating the Cheat that much better.

There are good guys. Yes, In my failed attempt for brevity I did not exhault the few good guys and Steph has been great. If they were not successful one might say that Steph being the high paid player running for ten years now should "Sacrifice" so they have room to get players to win. Being plush with success and a new arena that vaccumes in revenue they will perhaps also gracefully end the era.

The Spurs ended its era fairly. Long runs generate a lot of good will. Tony Parker departure was not great as he wanted to play not for free. But mostly the Timmy era was really drama free.

I like When KG went back to Minny his last two years.

Personally I don't like Lebron to Miami as it might just work. Prefer him with Warriors, Minny, or at least Cleveland. I could stomach that better should they suceed.

Well - makes things interesting for Philly! But they'll still need a healthy Embiid to contend. Maybe the stars align for them, but I wouldn't bank on it...

Why is he a horrible fit? They had the other 4 positions locked down and he completes the starting lineup.

Too many ego's, too many guys who want theirs, LeBum and Embiid on the court together is getting torched defensively. And Maxey and Edgecombe's usage is going to decline. LeBum is also toxic to a locker room with his drama and selfish bs.

They are a Play In team.

Nalod @ 7/24/2026 12:56 PM
Objecively, Sixer fans should be excited about the potential.
I can see them being very cautious with Embiid and Lebron and not having top seed as a priority.
ALso lots of chemistry things to get thru.
Knicks might be the templete now? Its about the playoffs!

IM a bit suprised given the Miami stuff, and perhaps a retern to CLEV has a more "Storybook" theme to it?
If a player of stature is wiiling to take a massive paycut and jump onto a team Im ok with that. not like PHilly won anything without him and they will do well with Lebrons Leadership.
Chemistry? Not sure how Brown will feel as he wanted his own team.
Its a good move for them as they can't really trade Embiid and in a lessor role he shojld be more effective.
I suppose bench depth might be an issue?
My guess is those with Lebron hate, AND Embiid will not be happy with this at all.
It could be a shit show as much as they could cobble together a hell of a run.
Not saying Im happy at all. ONly good news is Riley looks stupid this week.
In the event Knicks don't make finals, Spurs vs. Sixers? Whats worse? Wemby or WemBiid getting a ring?

MaTT4281 @ 7/24/2026 1:13 PM
Philly fans SHOULD be excited! Let them celebrate the same way we celebrated getting Zach Randolph. And let them go through the the other 4 stages of grief like we did.

Whatever my thoughts on Philly, this decision must piss off Miami (sounds like they believed he was coming) and Boston fans (knowing they helped facilitate the path for Philly to contend). So that makes me happy.

LeBron isn’t what he was even just a couple years ago. He’s a coach killer who needs the ball in his hands. Sixers have several players who need the ball. Yeah they will win 50 games and probably get to the conference finals because they just robbed the Celtics but LeBron is a toxic mess now that’s why the lakers couldn’t wait to get rid of him.

Philly gonna be formidable! You hear that?

Nalod @ 7/24/2026 11:11 PM
My take is in the age of parity that exists there are less occurance of domination by one or two teams that win 60 or more games and run it thru to the finals. Lower seeds can make runs. Look at knicks this year? Indy in finals last season took OKC to 7 games. This year the top two seeds were defeated. Boston fell to a play in team! Philly then ran out of gas and we destroyed them. . So I look at them kind of like knicks this year......If heatlhy they "COULD". Stay injury free and hope others are less fortunate. Thats always been true but the margins are thinner now. Maybe I'd put it at 20% chance but maybe the other three are Clev, Knicks, then maybe Indy?

The last 8 years have not had a repeat winner. A repeat would be really sweet and a validation of sorts putting this team in a special catagory.

Philly? Not a big fan of the Ogre they call Embiid at all but now that we got ours I kind of feel for Philly fans (can a whole city be bad?) who have not won in 43 years! Last chip was 1983! If not Knicks, I prefer Boston not another for a while. Same for Miami and Lakers! Some places like Phoenix have never won! They been in the league since 1968! The Kings? Last was 1951! Orlando, Grizz, Clippers, Jazz, Pelicans, Hornets, and then not since ABA....Nets and Pacers.
