We beat ourselves in this one … when we get rolling they don’t stand a chance .
If we took care of the ball we would have won by 10+ pts .
Also OG had a terrible game … didn’t get in the flow once and bricked all his open looks ….
But looking forward to our revenge game when we are more dialed in .

Just one game it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see we are the superior team we just beat ourselves in this one.
Should have won by 10+ if we just took care of the ball.

Not our best performance. I thought Philly’s size and athleticism was on display. Those are their strengths. Objectively, I doubt they can stay healthy for 82 games. But they certainly looked healthy-ish tonight.
KAT had the mismatch favoring him tonight until they switch Bron onto him. Foul trouble kept them from punishing the Sixers early.
The offense at the elbow seemed stagnant. I felt like Brunson was gravitating to KAT the ball instead of motion away from the ball. Reminds me of the scene from Lasso where they are implementing Total Futball and they realize that they need to trust the ball handler to make the right decision not move closer to him to help.
In this KAT offense, I envision Brunson back screening for OG and moving off the ball - forcing defenses to make hard decisions. Getting Brunson the ball with more room to work.
The motion creates the mismatches, not the players. Got to trust KAT to see the board and initiate the ball on the highest efficiency efficiency option.
I’ll call it an off night offensively. Though I’d love to see better motion - the Brunson / KAT screen didn’t work and letting Embiid sag off Hart on defense sheltered Embiid’s inability to play man defense.
Zero intensity by the Knicks. Let the media celebrate their precious 76ers. We will eliminate them in the playoffs and end LeBron’s career.
Tough to access. Knicks did not play well thats for sure.
KAT foul trouble, OG not in a groove.
76ers? They too have a lot of upside. Simmons did a great job off the bench.
No intensity? Both teams wanted this bad.
Embiid looked good and Lebron played to win. Maybe he retires this year. Does not take a clarvoyent to say that at his age. The guy knows the game. PHilly had a very balanced output from a lot of players. They have still figure out a lot of things but they came in let knicks know they are here.
As a fan one has the perogative to be as funny, smart, or ignorant as you care to be. Im not taking anyting for granted. I respect Lebrons career and what he has done. His professionalism could galvanize that group. Thats a lot of talent on the starting lineup. If and when they face up in the playoffs I'll enjoy the match and hope for the best outcome for my team. They basically added Brown and Lebron for an ineffective PG13. Embiid? He does not have to be his MVP self for them to accomplish. HE is dirty and reckless but I don't ignore what he can do if he on the court.
Watching that banner was go up was everything I ever dreamed of and more! So grateful to have been there! And those have to be considered the greatest Championship rings ever! Wish I had funds to buy one off Pacome or McCullers!
I've already forgotten most of this game. Like I said before, the season opener is the most overrated game on the 82 game schedule. And because of all the celebrations and increased pregame, this was not your typical game either. Notice how Drummond was the only one who played well in the first half. The one guy who wasn't a part of the ring ceremony and banner. Too bad he got fatigued in the second half but I do think Brown should've went with Wiseman to finish that 3rd when the game sorta got away. GTA had some nice sequences and KAT hit some big threes in the 4th. And that's about it. Nobody really had it offensively. Can't win shooting 37% from the field, 33% (11/33) from three and 70% from the line (8 missed FT's). All that and we still had a chance to win it! The Cap just didn't have it in the 4th. OG and Mikal also had poor games. Transition defense was dirt poor too. But long story short, this game will mean nothing if we play these bums in the playoffs. Just got to survive this looooong regular season and stay healthy.
I'm prepared for a slow start. Combination of championship hangover (whether or not we want to admit it), a whirlwind summer, and coach continuing to experiment a bit.
I'm not upset with the loss, close game against a team many are already slating to be a top team in the East. KAT with some tacky fouls and goes 4/7 from the stripe. Shamet misses both of his. And we flat out gift an extra 3 points with a crap pass from Deuce to close the 3rd.
Easy things to clean up. Brunson shoots 6/19, OG 3/12, that won't be a regular thing.
Give Philly's defense credit though. I thought the ball movement was looking decent, but they closed out quick and we didn't get shots up after the initial pass.
It's probably team meeting time followed by 80-1, it'll be OK.
Deuce made so many boneheaded plays there reason why the Knicks don’t want to pay him. All in all I was fine how the Knicks played if Simon’s and KCP don’t hits those three points shots we win the game. I thought Drummond had a great game and Knicks need play Mohammad diawara some minutes at 4 especially if bridges or og aren’t playing well.
