Was anyone really impressed after hearing Scott Layden speak on WFAN? I wasn't. The guys said uhh and ummm every other sentence. Not the articlulate type of guy I always thought he was.

i remember him saying that he always got calls from other teams b/c the knicks have really good players ... and then mike and the dawg lost it and were like how good can they be? the team sucks.

Many years later, Checketts explained that Layden was hired mainly as a numbers and ground work guy (like Mills today)- the plan was that Checketts would essentially be the GM. However Dolan then got rid of Checketts leaving Layden way out of his depth as GM (like Mills last year!) maybe thats why Dolan hired Mills- he reminded him of Layden!
