Words cannot describe the admiration I have for this guy.
some people enter the league with god given physical talent, ie lebron, kg, kobe. AI showed up with a 6 foot bag o' bones and a heart bigger then a bus. he spends every day of his proffesional career playing a style of basketball that could make it his last day.
Time after time, he throws himself into the lane directly at guys more than a foot taller then him and over 100 pounds heavier then him. Time after time, he gets knocked to the ground.......... and somehow, over and over again he gets back up and does it again!!!!! it must be frustrating for the 300 pounds centers who are trying to grind him into the ground. 'how do you keep this little shrimp down??!!'
In the first of this weeks 50 point games, a few hours before tipoff, the philly coach confirmed that iverson had broken his middle finger of his shooting hand. But, said O'Brian 'knowing Allen, he probably won't even wear a brace on it'. He promptly went out and didn't score 50 points. No no, that could possibly be described as playing hurt, or even heaven forbid be described as human. No no, that won't do. So Allen Iverson went out and did it TWICE!!!!!!!!!
And so, in the season of goodwill, I ask you, Knick fans maybe, but BASKETBALL fans foremost, to join me in raising your glass to the bravest, most astonishing athlete of them all.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, Allen Iverson.
I'm totally with you there firefly. Iverson is one of a kind.

Maybe later, I'll get all Phuched up and start toasting world leaders, anti taliban dudes, the pope, Nelson Mandela, laugh when I say "Putin", make Bush jokes, then toast Miss Gazy white nose, and then I'll give you Allen Iverson!
I appreciate the fact that he waited until AFTER our 19 point comeback before he scored 54/51/40...but that's about it.
He is a phenomenal basketball player with God given talent AND a big heart AND a tough attitude. His off-court personality is another matter, of course... but then again, we're only taking about basketball and in that aspect he is amazing.
HEYY WHAT ABOUT THE KNICKS!!
this guy is 1 of the elite players in the game, no question...people hate on him for hogging the ball & shooting a low %, but this guy has the type of talent that is rarely seen...if he ever gets a HOF calibre player to play with, he'll win championships guaranteed...the only thing separating him from an Isiah Thomas is the fact that he has no rings yet.
