Here's the link with all the numbers. 6 years 25 mil, 8.2 signing bonus, split 5 mil this year and 3.2 the next.

this has been the most significant offseason i've seen the Giants undergo in a long time...the Eli trade was huge, but they really improved their team depth in the past few weeks...

now all that's left to do is upgrade the depth on the O-line & D-lines & address the issue of getting Will Allen off this team for someone who can actually cover guys in the secondary.

Looks good, right?

This is what I mean about the Giants being "due". The NY sports needs something more to cheer about. The Jets have been ok but it's nothing compared to the G-Men when they are rolling good.

Baring any setbacks....this 2005 season looks like a big one. The draft will be a sinch.
TMS @ 3/17/2005 9:13 PM
we can have a great offseason but hopefully we don't get bitten by the injury bug again like last year...& Shockey really needs to bounce back & return to his rookie year form...we all know what we'll get from Tiki...Eli maturing is huge obviously as well.
EnySpree @ 3/17/2005 10:02 PM
Plaxico is a big target. That's one reason I like him. Dude is 6'5". He is arguably twice as better than Ike Hilliard. Toomer will definately be the secondary wideout. Toomer seems like the bigger the game or the more pressure there is he crumbles. He won't have that pressure now that the Plaxico is around.

Damn man Shocky? Tiki......the offensive line already has a major upgrade to it and the draft will help.....the defense got the same upgrade.

Wooohoooo!!!!!

Go Giants!!!!

great offseason. now at least someone in the nfc will give philly a little bit of a fight. not ot say that we are on their level yet, but the chance of another season for a philly sweep is unlikely. barring any major injuries, we should be thinking playoff and conference contention. besides philly, every other team either remain stagnant or weaker ( i don't know what dallas and washington are thinking with their offseason). great strategy. we money pinched last year to surround eli with capable guys this year.

I like the moves. The Giants had a great off season. But their defense is still suspect.

Now we need a STUD DT to man the middle.
Free Agents available...
Jason Ferguson(NYJ)? 4 sacks last year
Marcus Bell(Lions)? Big Man! 6'2" - 340 lbs

Draft?
Luis Castillo - Northwestern - 6'3" - 305lbs - Projected 2nd round - Good Motor type of player
Atiyyah Ellison - Missouri - 6'4" - 305lbs - Project 3rd round - Potential!

Dang! Is it football season yet?

GO JINTS!!!

Sleeper pick....

Nehemiah Broughton
College: The Citadel
Height: 5-111/2
Weight: 250
Position: Running Back
Class: Senior
40-Yard: 4.55

Strengths: Has excellent size and a solid frame...Has good speed for his size...Is a powerful runner...Is very strong...Is a decent receiver out of the backfield...A workhorse who gets stronger as the game goes on...Also a good blocker.
Weaknesses: Has dealt with some injuries in his past so durability is a big concern...Has not played against much elite competition...Isn't a threat to break the long one...Lacks agility...Looks stiff.
Notes: Sleeper prospect who has some intriguing physical tools and could turn out to be a steal...Will be an interesting player to watch out for on day two.

I went to middle school & highschool with Luis Castillo. We were on the same wrestling team to. He finished 3rd in the state in his second yr of wrestling ever. He is the type of person that will be successfull at anything he does. And he is about 6'4.

You guys just stole our deep threat passing game. Hines Ward is considered our best WR, but it was Burress who commanded the constant doubles and would still get deep. You don't catch 78 balls for 1300 yds by accident, throw him the ball and he'll produce. Watch.

He will now take the doubles off of Shockey...making most teams match a linebacker against him, and when they do try to cover him with a safety....its bombs away to plax....just throw it up and at 6'5 he'll go get it.

I love to here that for a change. Usually fans from other teams are glad to lose these players.

Eli to Burgess....Touchdown!!!!

Back to the Giants.

I was intrigued with the thought of Giants drafting Matt Jones. And after reading this artical I would be very disapointed if he was available to us and we didn't draft him. I mean he is 6'6 240 runs a 4.4 40, 40 inch vertical, He is an athletic freak who can also throw the football. He is a weapon. Burress 6'5, Toomer 6'3, Shockey 6'5 *Jones 6'6 we would have great size and speed which would be hard to match up with. There would have to be at least 1 matchup problem with all that size.

Isiah should be looking at this kid...sounds like a slightly shorter Lebron James type player.
VDesai @ 3/31/2005 10:06 AM
Problem is Jones was not a WR. He was a QB in college, and is projection/position switch project at WR. Don't underestimate how hard it would be adapt him. That would be an extremely risky pick in rd.2.

The Giants have put themselves in an excellent position to go where the value is in rd.2 and rd.3, and fortunately the value coincides with their needs (Backup RB, more depth at CB). Ciatrick Fason would be a no brainer in rd.2. Good size, good game speed and productivity. JJ Arrington is short, but extremely well built and fast. A little TIki-like. I also like the long range potential of Minnesota's Marion Barber. At CB- Marlin Jackson of Michigan is an excellent player. I also like Dominique Foxworth of Maryland and Stanley Wilson of Stanford.
