can anybody say phil jackson?
I'd take silas over phil anyday.
You would take Paul Silas over Phil Jackson?
Phil Jackson's won 9 championships, Silas hasn't got one and couldn't win consistently with a team with the NBA's best player.

With this team, phil isn't a good fit...unless he is committed to making it work with marbury...I'm worried he has kobe backlash and wants only lebrons and jordans here on out...marbs excels on a team in a team concept.
A job for everyone and everyone does their job.
silas is that type of coach.
Wow, the timing's kind of intense. The morning after Lebron's big game. I guess they figure that if the team still can't win when the star goes for 56, 10 and 5 that there's just no hope with this coach.
Silas is a good man, tough though. He does not take any crap, and in the NBA, these spoiled divas dish out a ton of crap.
Phil Jax living in Cleveland? I don't think so.
Denver, POrtland, New York, are nice places to live. Cleveland is still Cleveland!
Very interesting....Isiah has a lot to chose from, but I am affraid that he will commit to the wrong coach at the end....I like Silas, and I think that he is a much better coach than phill...I know that Phil won 9 championships, but who did he have playing for him??? Silas is a much better fit in my opinion...with him, we wouldn't have to turn over everything in the organization to make it work....
Silas
Flip
Phil
Brown
Marc Jackson
Herb Will
I will take either of those names above, but I prefer Brown or Silas...
Thats ashame. They should have given Silas until the end of the season considering the great job he has done mentoring Lebron, their meal ticket.
Wonder if Flip Saunders will be considered as a replacement?

"According to league sources, the Cavaliers are interested in Cleveland native Flip Saunders as the possible successor to Silas, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports. Since his firing in Minnesota, Saunders has said he plans to sit out the rest of this season, but his ties to the city and his lengthy experience coaching another star player out of high school -- Kevin Garnett -- have Cleveland's attention."
looks like it Kwazi. Damn this sucks, I was really hoping for the Knicks to make a big push for Flip but any possible head coach would be stupid to pass up coaching that young Cavs team and the next huge superstar in the NBA

In this league, it is all about who you know....Silas was not liked by the front office, and they are looking to hire Scott Skiles to replace him....It was well advertised how bad of a relationship he and some members of the front office actually have....I feel sorry for Silas, because that is the second time in his career that he has been humilated like that....Once with the Hornets, and now with Cleveland...

I like Herb but if we have a shot at Flip......Hope they dont get hire him before then.
Curious - why are people so convinced that Flip Saunders is a good coach? Aren't the T-WOlves known for perenially choking in the playoffs?
Silas was hand picked to mentor Lebron- thought he had done a nice job.
it seems kinda late in the year to go and fire a coach.

Thats a fair question.I would put that on Garnett and the fact that his surrounding cast over the years has been weak. They started to click when Spree and Cassell showed up but they are back to being primadonnas again.

I know...this is a playoff team. To fire him now is a joke.
that is how they do black coaches in this league...regardless of how big of a name you are, you don't get that many chances to make an impression....When you are black, you are doomed in this society...
