Today he had a home run as well. I happy for Giambi. We all know he did the 'Roids...That's inexcusible, but I am happy that he is doing and feeling better. Yankee's are my favorite baseball team, so I am glad that they are atleast playing better now. It's been a dismal season.
Yeah, a very difficult season so far. But isn't it amazing that given all the troubles we've had, we are still half a game from second place and still close to first place? Its been a crazy year...
Oh, and yeah, Im very happy for Jason too. He was just so terrible that you couldn't help but feel pitty for him, even if he caused his own problems. I hope he can resurrect his career and prove that he can be a good player even without the 'Roids...
Nice win today! I hope we ride the momentum 'till the A.S. Break and then keep it going after it...

I'm glad to see that this thread ended just as the talk of a Yankee dynasty ended. These guys are washed up and pitiful for 225 million.
The RED SOX continue to pull away from the rest of the overmatched East.
And...wait until we get Curt Shilling back :<)
Nitey nite
GO RED SOX!
WHERE WERE YOU FANS WHEN THE RED SOX WAS LOSING!!!I HOPE IT TAKES ANOTHER CENTURY BEFORE YOU WIN ANOTHER WS!!!!

Gammons Flunks Baseball IQ Test
http://www.nomaas.org sources are telling us that Peter "The Icon" Gammons flunked a recent baseball IQ test. When asked to write an essay about the Yankees' minor league system, Gammons responded: "The Yankees have no farm. They have no major-league ready talent." With rookies Chien-Ming Wang, Robinson Cano, and Melky Cabrera all playing signficant roles on the major league club, Gammons was completely wrong.
Word on the street is that Rob Neyer, Baseball America, the entire crew of Baseball Tonight, the Boston Herald, Jayson Stark, and all Red Sox fans also failed the test.

I love how our young players are proving everyone wrong!
It looks l9ike the Yankees are starting to play pretty well at just the right time. Yesterday they had a very solid win against a red hot Cleveland team. Melky Cabrera had his MLB debut and his first hit and Yankee ovation. The day Bernie celebrated his 14th anniversary here, he became the new CF and his defense was solid. Great to see the young movement continue, and we are heating up!
The game against Cleveland just ended, and many great things happened for NY. First of all I have to congratulate our great Rookie pitcher CM Wang for yet another solid outing, resulting in his 6th win! He made 6.2 innings and allowed just 3 ER. Congrats also to W. Franklin for having a good relief outing for the team. Also, the win coupled with the Orioles loss moves us, yeah unbelievable, to second place! Yeah! Keep the great play Yankees!
Ugh, I still wish Baltimore won. As much as I like taking control of second, in the division, I MUCH rather would remain third and knock off yet another game on Boston's lead.

To tell you the truth I wanted the same thing, but Baltimore is losing ground fast. Im happy the Yanks won and are in second, but Im more concerned about the first place...
Just found my new signature:
"Derek Jeter, if he's not an All-Star, there's not an All-Star. That may not be the most popular thing for a Red Sox manager to say, but this guy is the way baseball is supposed to be. That's how much respect I have for him." -- Red Sox skipper Terry Francona, who will manage the American League All-Star team
Anyways, it looks like today we brought up Darrel May to start. His stats don't look very encouraging. I'm hoping the bullpen is ready for today.
Let's go NY! Make it #7!
Wow! I hadn't read that about Francona. Classy guy, that was a very good thing to say. And he is right

.
No, May's outing was a waste. The hole is 4 runs now. I hope the Yanks offense gets hot in a hurry...
After a tough loss yesterday in which we had the tying and winning runs on bases and no outs but Cano and A-Rod couldn't get the job done, we went back into action early today. The results? The Big Unit wasn't lights out yet again, but it wasn't necessary as NY scored enough to seal a 9-4 win against Cleveland. The Sox lost again, so we moved up.

Now, the All Star game!
It's gonna be weird not seeing Jeter at the All Star game, but we still have A-Rod, Mariano, and Sheff.
Anyways, good win today, taking 3 out of 4 from Cleveland. String a couple more series wins together, we'll be back in this thing no problem.
Yeah, it will be so strange. He deserved to be there! And its amazing we only have 3 all-stars. I hope they all do well and win the game so we will have home advantade in the WS, hopefully!

A very nice series against Cleveland. We could've won all four against a team that was red hot. We are playing the right way. I hope we continue it!
All-Star Game, here we go! Winner has home-court advantage in the World Series...
One of my favorite questions:
"Why is it called the
World Series if it's always played in the Bronx?"
GREAT FUKING WIN OVER THE RED SUX!!! 1.5 games back BABY!! Awesome fucking game tonite. What a way to go into the weekend.
That was a great win, but I'm still worrried about losing ground on Boston now. We had Mussina pitching tonight, but our rotation is shot right now. With Wang put on the DL today, Johnson is the only other guy in the rotation we can trust.
Guess we can just hope Tanyon, Gordan, and Rivera can stay solid.
#1 in the AL East in a few days!

I know what you mean. Its actually in terrible shape but here is the good thing, there is finally reason to cheer. THe Knicks sucked, the Giants sucked and the Yankees sucked till a few weeks ago. They are finally back! Winning has returned to NY and its wearing the pinstripes.
