they are not willing to settle for medicore. they understand the talent that kwame brown has, he a very close replica to Horace Grant at PF, in 2 years you could have a frontline of
C-Bynum 7-3 295
F K Brown 7-0 260
F Odom 6-10 240
G Kobe 6-6 225
get some good role players and find a PG. Even if it fails I respect it
Kwame's either a bum or he's not. It doesn't matter who he's playing with.
i don't think Mitch Kupchak is quite the genius type.
What happened to the world's greatest lineup of
Kobe
Shaq
Malone
Payton
George/Fox
it's a dead horse but keep beating!
Take out Kobe, and the line up is mediocre.
When Kobe was drafted, it was reported that the Knicks could have traded for his rights, but refused to part with Oakley. If true, that was really dumb.

That doesn't scare me.
it will in 1-2 seasons.

but what was that team projected to be? that's my point - you can make all kinds of projections about how great teams are giong to be - what they end up looking like is another story.
btw i wouldn't call Malone and payton garbage on that team - they were starters on a team that did go to the finals.
Hey! Why are we trading for players and signing ones if its clear: the Lakers are going to win the championship next season with rookie highschooler Bynum, bust K. Brown, and Co. Its a given! Not even the Spurs or the Pistons can do something against that! All Hail Bynum!!

Briggs, its amazing how you get excited about a player and he automatically grows up 1-3 inches! Bynum, from 7 ft. he is now 7'3"? Wow! Kwame from 6'10" or 6'11" has already made it to 7"! Wow! thats a great power you have on players! Whats your secret?

i highly doubt bynum gets any significant role next year, I think the Lakers are going in a 3 yr timeframe. Im expecting him to play 60 games or so 8-12 minutes. Bynum is not done growing. It would be foolish to push him for 2 years. I thought anyone who drafted AB would have to have a 3 year timeframe to get him into a position where he can take over an NBA starting spot. When a doctor is saying he's going to grow 3+ inches, that's a lot. That means his tendons ligaments bones are a tad softer than a fully developed male. Its going to be a process from 10 minutes to 18-20 minutes in yr 2 then he can look at where he is at. Personally I expect a monster in yr 3, IF Kwame works out, if he plays up to the potential he has, there will be few teams in the league that can physically match up with their frontline including Odom--throw in Kobe and assets picked up over the next two years--then you could be talking very serious title hopes. Its a process they had to reload but I think they have the goods, again to do another 3-4 yr run.

I tend to agree. I think the Lakers did a nice quick job of getting a young frontline with tons of potential. All of those guys are lottery picks and will have a chance to see if they can work out in LA. In two years, LA will be back and contending again, IMHO.

wouldn't surprise me. I mean all high school players are 3-5yrs away right?!
Go be a Laker fan. Your favourite player is there anyway, and your starting to really wind me up with your one man Bynum band act
Get over it man! You should be talking about how we are going to win a title before you new best friends frickin tendons stop growing!!!! I don't give a rats ass about some Lakers damn tendons!
