1 tatoo removal technologies

2. alternate energy technologies

3. hybrid and compact cars-bikes-motor scooters/mopeds will come back all jazzed up-especially in warm weather regions.

4. railroad infrastructure / mass transit -think Japan high tech fast and secure 5 dna mapping/the human genome[this particular area should be the the catalyst for the next large stock market run] the ability to detect defective genes in a person and the ability to repair/to reduce and slow down free radicals within the human body this will be the new paradigm in medicine. medicine as we know it now will look archaic

Thats pretty interesting. Where did you see this Briggs or is this your own personal list?

Alternative energy technology companies are over speculated as it is
and in the case of a pullback, I would rather own an alternative
energy RESOURCE company such as coal, I own JRCC since 37. If i was
to slump into the speculative alternative energy space I would likely
go to a company in the GTL (gas to liquid) technology or LNG (liquefied natural gas).

Also, I do not hold for 10 years, maybe 10 days???

Hybrid cars-interesting idea, but almost the same as your last
idea...alternative energy...new energy bill will benefit, again 10
years is way to long.

Railroad infrastructure- i would rather own petrochina because most
chinese dont even use cars, that company will benefit more so in the
shorter term.

i hope briggs' ideas turn out better than his last, what was is like
lightpath or something?

name some companies briggs.

^From my younger brother, who is into this kind of stuff. I know nothing about it.

Laser type technologies are going to play a big part of the future in various fields including military, health, manufacturing etc.. for example

I dont want to think about the numbers here, because literally we are talking huge. Lightpath is a little pebble in the ocean, but that is where the biggest risk reward plays are. Ive hit a few of these in my life and missed a few. hitting oNE is more lucrative than losing 5. If you allocate 10-15% of your portfolio to these types of stocks with reasonable stop losses attached, in a long term appraoch you should have a good chance to do well in your speculative portion of your portfolio. Im not a 10 day investor, Im more of a long term short seller than anything else. I worked for Schwab out of school and then on to a small hedge fund that I ended up as a partner and still have ties to. But for the most part, I relax:>)
