I just learned this in my evolution class and decided to google search it. A Japanese scientist captured the first ever photos of a real and living Giant Squid as it was trying to lure one with a bait line. Somehow, he snagged one of it's large tentacles. Too bad for the squid, but that's still freaking awesome.

that squid has MAD tentacle-span and should not be judged merely for its height!

I'll take that Giant Squid over Jerome James b/c if the refs call a foul on him, it will just eat the ref and then continue swatting shots even as it's on the wrong side of the court!

They said that one was est 26feet. The largest on record is 59 feet.....

Try to hold your bowls in after seeing a 59 foot giant squid!!!!

The funny thing is that they haven't exactly found MANY DEAD ones. So if they have found a 59 footer in the body of a Sperm Whale, there HAS to be ohhh, maybe a 70 footer or so. I bet some Sperm whales have probably gotton killed (MAYBE, those are huge and grow to be 70 feet) while trying to fight a Giant Squid.
