It was great!

That doesn't suck.

But damn do we miss El Duque (not to mention Contreras).

btw, The Yankees softened Boston up.

We miss Pettitte too! We still have enough talent to win the WS which is all that matters.

I know. I am glad, but feel bad for the fans. I understand their pain. Believe me, I am a Yankee fan and last year loss is probably reversed to them and now they feel how I felt as a fan, heh.
Marv @ 10/7/2005 7:41 PM
hey put me in the camp of being disappointed. i wanted a-rod et al. to get revenge. not to mention big unit to get to screw with their heads.

The Red Sox now go down as the most expensive team in history to win the world series (last year) and the most expensive team to not win even one playoff game (this year)! Maybe people will start talking about their payroll. I doubt it, though. Every non-Yankee fan loves to single out the Yankees for their payroll and ignore all other teams.

Maybe. I heard one Red Sox fan on the radio say last year was so great that he was set (fine) for the next five year even if the team didn't win another one. (I.e., that championship last year bought him 5 years of happiness.) Yankee fans think very differently. We expect championships every year.

The difference is that Pettitte didn't want to be here.

But yeah, the Yankees won't be stopped.

Last year was uncredible for the sox. As a life long Sawx hater, I felt good for the fans.

They sold their soul with that payroll for that championship.

Coming back 0-3 was painful for yanks, but I guess if your gonna break a spell, doing it, and doing it against the yanks is how you break the curse!

I know what you mean. But they got their one championship and that's the last time I'll ever feel good for their fans again when their team wins.
LongIslandKnicksFan @ 10/7/2005 7:52 PM
It's funny though. The Boston Red Sox lost three in a row in this years playoffs. So maybe the curse has started AGAIN!
gunsnewing @ 10/7/2005 7:52 PM
hah I was going to start a thread but didn't! Cheers to another 86yrs of losing!!!!! that championship last year was a complete fluke!

This is too funny, they got swept!!!! Duque is the MAN!!!!

Red Sox are a great team and I think the battles with us over the last few years have weakened then somewhat. I hate to see them win, so this was sweet. Now we just have to take care of business tonight.
