Successful Scenario
Due to New York and Orlando being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Orlando had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Francis Refused To Re-Enter Game
13th January, 2006 - 1:20 pm
Florida Today - Orlando Magic guard Steve Francis refused head coach Brian Hill's orders to re-enter Wednesday's game late in the fourth quarter at Seattle, resulting in his indefinite suspension from the team, a team source said Thursday.

Frustrated with his increasingly diminished role in the offense and the lopsided score at the time, Francis defied Hill's request that he check back in to the 113-104 loss to the Sonics.

The head coach and point guard had words on the bench and then again later in the locker room, the source said.

Thursday, Francis was informed by assistant general manager Otis Smith that he was suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team," and booted from the Magic's road trip.

Francis played a season-low 27 minutes Wednesday, scoring just 10 points and turning the ball over six times.

The incident between Francis and Hill started with 3:22 left in the game and the Magic trailing Seattle 103-87. When starting small forward Hedo Turkoglu fouled out, video footage from Fox Sports Northwest showed Hill pointing to Francis to check into the game.

However, the point guard shook his head, said something to Hill and did not get up from the bench. Hill approached Francis and the two continued to talk. Stacey Augmon replaced Turkoglu.

"He wouldn't go back into the game," said the source, who requested anonymity.

Smith confirmed Thursday that it was an in-game incident and another episode after the game that led to the indefinite suspension, but he declined to go into details.

Francis and agent Jeff Fried are expected to meet Monday with head coach Brian Hill and assistant general managers Dave Twardzik and Smith. [READ]

C = CURRY
PF = FRYE
SF = HILL

10 man rotation plus Hill comes off the books next year, JJ's contract is gone along with Q's bad back having azz !!
crzymdups @ 1/13/2006 11:30 PM
Steve Francis is a cancer. No thanks.
crzymdups @ 1/13/2006 11:31 PM
Crawford is better than Francis.
NYKniCksFan87 @ 1/13/2006 11:41 PM
get the hell outta here, some of u fans are so fickle...why do u wanna trade a crawford whos playing the best ball of his career, for a cancer in francis and a retirement waiting to happen in hill??
BasketballJones @ 1/13/2006 11:46 PM
Aside from the issue of who's a better player, is it really a good idea to do any trades right now when the Knicks are clearly coming together and learning to trust one another? This seems like the worst time for a trade like this.

It's kind of hard to trade Crawford and then have him come of the bench as the backup 2.

I don't see this as a good trade at all. Maybe Penny for Francis straight up, but not with Crawford.

The team finally has some stability, and here you go wanting to turn the teamover again. We have some stability and chemistry...let the team be!

Bitch, are you smoking reefer?(c)Kanye
BRIGGS @ 1/14/2006 12:17 AM
i dont know about you guys, but to me craw is not for sale.

IF Orl would be interested in a Q malik rose ariza package for stevie, then i would be very interested. I like what LB has done to change the games of a few players. we have to remember that steve is an elite talent, if he comes to NY, I believe LB Can make Francis capitulate like he did with craw and marbs
Bobby @ 1/14/2006 12:20 AM
i was wondering when you were going to post another trade scenario. maybe this win streak could help you re-evaluate your position....not

Amazing what a 6-game winning streak will do BUT.. Crawford is not for sale. I'm happy that I'm eating crow about him becuase he was one of the x-factors of this team being good and during this 6-game streak he has been absolutely key.

Chamberlain, Barkley, Kobe, Jordan, Oscar Robertson as the starting 5 I'm guessing

Penny Hardaway helped get Brian Hill fired in his previous incarnation as coach of the Magic. Can you imagine them taking him back to play under Hill?
OngBok @ 1/14/2006 9:18 AM
lol..... youn guys are funny. I havn't posted a trade in a while. Thought i would, thought you guys liked Francis.
TheSage @ 1/14/2006 9:58 AM

Another day, another silly trade proposal.

A month ago it wouldn't have been silly....

But it sure is silly now. The Knicks have to wait it out now......they gotta see what this team can do and if and when they make a trade....they gotta bring a guy in that will fit the TEAM now......cuz the Knicks are a TEAM right now. They got a foundation and andone that comes in can't disrupt the foundation......whoever comes in has to fit what the Knicks are doing.

Go Knicks!!!!

I'm not so sure Eny. We would basically have two PG and no SGs. I dont like Franchise that much but if we didnt have Steph, I would want to get him but we do have Steph. I think Steph is better.
