All right I'll test you guys on some old-time rock - who knows of a band called Mountain, out of NY in the 60's, lead guitarist and singer was a guy named Leslie West. Unbelievable kick-ass rock. Anyone know them?
60's? jeez louise man, i bet 75% of the people here weren't even a mistake in their parent's eyes yet (myself included).
on a side note marv, you ever listen to the radiators? what do you think of them?

never heard of them but i'll have to check them out. I grew up listening to rock oldies from the 50s and early 60s. like fats domino, chuck berry, elvis, Drifters, Dion, Buddy Holly, Ben E. King, Sam Cooke, Platters, Bobby Darin, frankie lymon
Sweet! I thought you were goofing when you mentioned Bo Diddley before!
I still listen to the hell out of Sam Cooke. His early gospel stuff with the Soul Stirrers was unreal, and so was his R&B. His pop stuff got too syrupy.
Mountain came after all these guys - they were one of the first real hard rock bands. They played Woodstock but they didn't make the original album

^ shame.
i would've payed 100's to see them 2gether.
if you have aol my sn's spongebobs3304, if you can spot me that elton/gnr song...
it's November Rain with Axl and elton doing a duet on the piano. nothing special really. I'll also hook you up with GN'R and Aerosmith doing Train kept a rollin & mama kin or my favorite performance of alltime...Axl doing a tribute to Freddy Mercury with the rest of members from Queen. Axl tears up Bohemian Rapsody & We will rock you. What's your email address? I'll dig it up and send it to you tomorrow. It's saved on a disc somewhere

ah that explains why they don't have the notority, what a shame. I'm a sucker for old syrupy songs lol
I try but I can never get into Bob Dylan/Woody Guthrie. I believe thats where rock began. well actually it goes back to Jazz/blues in New Orleans I believe
guns, can you get on AIM and explain this thread to me.

The original Guns havent played in 15 years.
Havent come out with an album in that same time.
Coming out with a new album in March.
No Linkin Park nor Grunge influence at all in GnR. They are just a true ROCK band!

I really prefer old school rock, hehe.
We could start a countdown till the album is released, but knowing Axel, it could get longer that expected, haha.
Well, I said 13 years because Spaghetti incident (the covers album) was released in 1993, but yes, it is 15 since their last studio album.
Not GnR related, but here you have a beautiful song, featuring David Coverdale (Whitesnake vocalist) and Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin guitarrist) from their album COVERDALE/PAGE. I think you'll like it.

You guys missed out on some good freakin times. Right Earl, OldFan, etc?
best riff ever --
Slash at the end of "Civl War"....
Slash is one heavy duty guitarist, I will give yoiu guys that. I've been impressed with his playing.
Any of you cats ever hear or see a guy named Popa Chubby? He's been a heavyweight on the NY scene for about 15 or 20 years, knockout rock and blues player, real heavy power player too. He still plays reguaulry in NY/NJ. Has a great live album called "Big Man Big Guitar."
TWAT(there was a time) the final demo and its a beauty..enjoy!
