There is a way to do Yahoo Keeper league. There are obvious pros and cons to this... we need 10 or so active/competitive managers, preferably those who are not rookies at yahoo fantasy BBall...
The first year will be like normal; followed by each team dropping a few people (or just adding roster spots for each time (there is a total of 30 slots per team)... Each following year will be an offline draft in reverse snake order to be done offline Live or even in this forum with the team with the worst record choosing first and so on.
NEED input on this for those interested. RSVP only:
So far, I have heard from these managers:
Enyspree
Joe
Playa
Mac
There are also a plethora of stats that need to be dicussed. Balance is the key. Currently, Eny's league Eny'sClassic is mostly scoring; where as joe's rewards rebounds... only one PG pretty much exclusive stat (AST)... suggest adding assist to turnover ratio, PF's as well as FT's made and such.
Probably looking at a 3 year commitment.
I like the idea of keeping only a core group of players, which increases Parity and would promote manager's whose teams aren't that good to have some bit of hope because let's say Eny could only keep five of his guys (etc)... This would make the offline draft more important...
I like the idea of this too, I have one minor obstacle when it comes to draft though...I am on swing shift days and afternoons (hence why some weeks I am online in the mornings), I am sure we can work something out...
Secondly what type of time frame are we looking at? Next season? 2 weeks?
Also I am pretty sure my brother--fudruckers in eny's league-- would be down with this if you need more people.

hey guys, just an idea. I don't have ANY idea how the fantasy leagues work and if there are forums for them or not. We could create create a new forum here called Fantasy leagues and you'all could have at it with threads etc instead of using this off-topic area.
Let us know.

Dude, that would be real clutch! I am sure it will be used a lot. There are plenty of things that will fit into the fantasy league forum that gets pushed the NBA Forum.
MAC, I'm in. Its just sad that you guys want to lose to me 3 years in row.

Martin,
That's a great idea; and, something I wanted to suggest but didn't quite know how to ask.
Joe, I'm thinking that the draft can be done offline so that guys can do their research and to accomodate those who cannot participate on yahoo's live. Like a ddraft thread or something... Need a way to determine slots though... An obvious weakness to this is that there's no way to force someone to draft (maybe choose for them by concensus) and if by forum route, there's the edit feature...
I'm thinking this could be done shortly after the nba draft in the offseason.
Guys rsvp'd so far are:
Enyspree
Playa
Joe
Mac
Silver
Joe's bro possibly
What say you about the possibility of changing rosters only once a week? This would attract those who don't like to micromanage...
Making a Fantasy Forum on UK would be a good idea....Most of the guys on here are living in a Fantasy world anyway.

It will spare the regular Knicks area of the Fantasy business. Lots of guys that use this site play Fantasy.
I like the idea of changing rosters once a week. That should draw a lot more people and really make it competitive.
P.S. I'm regaining sole control of 1st place during the next few weeks sorry eny and joe
I'm going to count you Guns in this keeper league...
The good thing about yahoo is that it's free... I didn't see a prize section eny, do you know what the prize is for the keeper league?
