Yo I am about to watch The International. Naomi Watts rocks my world. I think it will be great. Check back to this post for a review.
I saw it the other day - it was ok, not great but not awful. Clive Owen is pretty good in it and of course
Naomi is hot but isnt in it enough.
I fell asleep, but it lookeed really intense. Naomi was great. It was pretty nuts when the guy has a heart attack in the start.
But it was well acted and full of adventure.

Anybody see Transformers 2 yet?
transformer: revenge of the fallen- went to a midnight imax show to see this. first and foremost, i am a big transformers' fan. not geek enough to run around with prime t-shirts and digital robot helmets ( which a fair amount of adults did yesterday) but good enough that i named my username after one of my favorite transformer. with that said, this movie was strange because in the beginning, i thought it was great. more actions and robots than you can shake a stick at. they clearly receive more money for this movie. however, towards the middle and end, i thought the movie was just a jumble mess with more questions than answers. look i know a bay film is all about style more than substance with jagged action sequences and uneven editing. however, this one was done very lazily. i also thought they would flesh out more transformer characters which they did a worse job than the previous ones. the only robots they fleshed out were the twin robots who made my man jazz look like sydney portier while they look and talk like characters from "homeboys from outer space", a perverted toy truck transformer and some old blackbird named jetfire. bumble bee they hardly focused on and you know what i like my bumblebee who is severely underpowered bhut gets out of situations by thinking it through. not the bumblebee who clearly is the second best warrior under prime and can take on two decepticons at the same time with ease. that brings me to the inconsistency. (spoiler) i remember in the first film, optimus prime had a very hard time kicking megatron's ass. now in this one, optimus took on not only megatron, but starscream and blackout, three of the more powerful decepticons, AT THE SAME TIME! then at the end, he kicked the supposedly most powerful decepticon ever ass in less than two minutes. i like prime as much as anyone ( though i am kind of bias since i am one of the few who likes megatron better, especially in the comics as they wrote him as a more complex villian who always had a method to his madness), but he is at his best when he outhinks, not outmuscles or guns his opponents. well, that is my opinion. now, was it a fun, action movie? sure it was. however, as a transformer fan, we deserve better and though i am upset with what they did to my boy in the last movie, i am being unbias here. now there are some things that i did like. that prime battle with the three decepticons, though implausible, was style done great and when devastator formed, as a transformer fan, i nearly crapped in my pants because it was done flawlessly and brilliantly. however, the first film should have been a springboard of better things to come. this didnt show it.
might be going to see it tonight... can't wait... i agree w/u on Bumblebee, he shouldn't be as great a warrior as he's shown as in these movies... that should be reserved for someone like Ironhide or Ultra Magnus... too bad the Dinobots weren't featured in these movies or else Grimlock of the Dinobots would be a bad ass... those Dinobots always used to kick major Decepticon ass whenever they were around... or what about Omega Supreme? he was the Autobots' answer to Devastator
I also dont like Megatron's voice in the movies - it is nothing like the cartoon voice of Megatron and it bugs me.
hahaha, word, that bugs me too.
I just saw Transformers 2 tonight. I liked it a lot, but the end seemed real sloppy. It seemed very rushed and there were scenes that seemed like they didn't need to be there, which I wont mention. There were other parts, however, that I thought were amazing. There was a lot of puzzling things though, considering how they seemed to just rush through the end as if they were trying to get to the deadline very quickly.
Hopefully there will be a third one.
hangover- hilarious. this movie is hilarious and very well paced. the chemistry of the trio was great with each playing a role for their strength. again, a movie where the supporting characters are just as funny as the main characters. this is one of the great crops of good rated r movies that have came out since the wedding crasher/40 year old virgin summer. also the last scene during the closing credits is a SHOCKER pushing the boundaries of a rated r movie.
notorious- very good movie. they portrayed biggie as a compelling and compassionate character who is led down a path of his untimely death. the most interesting aspect is seeing his career unfold through the background as well as seeing him having complex relationship with women. mckie was great as tupac but i would have liked it if he was in there more. also they portrayed p diddy as an angel and totally exonerated from any blame which is bullcrap. however, this movie was like a time capsule because it brought me back with the music and events i remembered so vividly and didnt seem that long ago but it was over a decade which is amazing.
friday the 13th- disappointing. i am a horror fan and i love pretty much all of the original movies ( though new beginning and jason x sucked beyond all belief). well, this one tried to be more contemporary but it made it like a typical slasher film, or below avg. one, which is amazing since most of the remake horror films like texas chainsaw massacre and my bloody valentine did an excellent job retelling and in some case surpassing the original. this movie was a mees. not recommended.
the wrestler- this was entertaining and rouke killed it. deserve the oscar and i hope he does well next year in iron man 2. it was very slow but it was almost like a documentary portrayal of an over the hill wrestler who can not distinguish reality from the ring to his personal life which he struggles with. almost touching and very sad circumstance we see him cope with.
Transformers 2 was the worst movie I have ever seen besides Soul Plane and Water World. This movie had no direction and the dialog was horrible. The writers just could not make up their minds if they wanted this movie to be a comedy like "America Pie" or an action movie like, "X-Men".

I wouldn't say it was the worst. I still say it was good. There was no direction though. Very sloppy. Too many storylines and because of that, it seemed quite rushed and even incomplete.

Hey, guess what? Every movie that comes out of Hollywood is about dumbing us down and selling tickets. The Art of Film is dead. Movies that honestly stink are constantly propelled to the top of the box office charts simply because there is nothing else out there, and people will flock no matter what.

well, though this year has generally suck with movies, i thought 2008 had a lot of entertaining movies and probably one of the strongest years in awhile.

I thought even Jason goes to Hell was better than that movie. There was so many bad parts in that movie it was not even funny. For instance Jetfire. They made Jetfire a old robot that needs to have a cane to walk? That is ridiculous since Jetfire and Starscream are suppose to be around the same age. Not to mention Megatron having a master. Megatron answers to no one. And I did not even mention the bad American Pie like jokes. If you think Transformer 2 was ok what to rank the new X-men movie because I thought that was ok.
finally saw Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen last night.
Overall i thought the CGI effects & action were awesome in this one, but it ran a little too long, I thought they coulda cut it down to 2 hours & still held down the plot. Still well worth seeing it in the theater. Transformers is not gonna blow you away with oscar calibre acting anytime... Transformers is not gonna blow you away with oscar calibre acting anytime soon obviously but how can you go wrong with Megan Fox working on a motorcycle with daisy dukes & cowboy boots on? That right there is probably gonna win an MTV Viewer's Choice Award.

it was all right. at least it was more comprehensible than some of the others. my 15 year-old gave it 2 huge thumbs up.
I saw Moon over the weekend - the trailer is better than the movie but if you like Sci Fi it was interesting. A little slow but I like Sci Fi and it had an interesting twist even if you see it coming.

HUDSON, OHIO (The Borowitz Report) -- A rabid Harry Potter fan took his life yesterday after inadvertently learning a plot spoiler from the soon-to-be-released J.K. Rowling movie, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
Jude Ralston, 32, of Hudson, Ohio left a suicide note indicating that since overhearing the plot spoiler at a shopping mall earlier in the day, "I no longer have a reason to live."
Family and friends who gathered for a candlelight memorial outside Mr. Ralston's house remembered a man who seemed to live only for Harry Potter - and wondered if they could have done anything to prevent his tragic fate.
"When Jude got that vanity license plate that said 'Hogwarts,' that seemed harmless enough," said Polly Clovis, who attended Model U.N. with Mr. Ralston while the two were in high school. "But when he started wearing that wizard hat around town, we really should have seen that as a cry for help."
According to friends of Mr. Ralston, the Potter fanatic had done everything in his power to protect himself from stumbling across Potter plot spoilers, even disconnecting his computer from the Internet and avoiding his favorite vintage comic book store.
Ms. Clovis said that she hoped Mr. Ralston's death would cause federal authorities to tighten the flow of Harry Potter plot information to prevent similar tragedies from taking place.
"In my heart I believe that could have saved Jude's life, even if he didn't have one," she said.
Elsewhere, stocks rallied on news of Goldman Sachs' joint venture with Satan. More here.

I saw "Public Enemies" and "Bruno" recently. I wasn't disappointed by either but neither lived up to expectations. PE was a half an hour too long, but still the best crime movie since Mann's other film, "Heat" (though not nearly as good). B failed to make the social observations "Borat" did and, while hilarious, tried to make fun of the vanity of Hollywood as well as make observations on the American/religious reaction to homosexuality... should have picked one and focused on it
I got "Taken" on DVD the other day, and thought that was excellent. It was a very intense movie.
Saw Harry Potter #6 over the weekend, I am a big fan so its no surprise I thought it was excellent. If you like the movies and especially if you haven't been to see one in the theater in a while - GO - it looks amazing on the big screen.
I usually wait until they come out on video but I just watched a marathon last weekend that got me psyched to see what happens next.
Taken is awesome. Liam Neeson is bad ass in that movie.
Harry Potter was excellent I thought. Very clever dialogue though I thought the big ending was a little bit rushed.
