The Buffalo Bills are using the scouting combine for more than just evaluating potential players. They're also shopping their running back, Willis McGahee, to other teams, according to an ESPN report.
The four-year back has attracted interest from at least one team.
Giants general manager Jerry Reese says his team may be interested in dealing for McGahee.
"There is some talk about Willis out there," Reese told ESPN. "We'll investigate Willis. We'll investigate everybody out there with trade talks. We'll leave no stones unturned."
The 25-year-old McGahee would help the Giants, who lost feature back Tiki Barber to retirement. McGahee has rushed for 1,000 yards twice in his career. Last season he gained 990 yards.
IMO i think we need more of a pass receiving HB to complement Jacobs... we don't need McGahee, & i'll bet it'll take at least a 2nd round draft pick to get him... we need to keep our picks to address our needs in the defense, namely getting a LBer & cover CB... please pass on McGahee! he's a good player, but we need to be smarter about how we use our draft picks this year.

I dont know man, McGahee is a special player. I don't know what Marv Levy is doing up there in Buffalo, they are letting alot of good players go in this offseason. We know he's a hell of a runner and trust me, while he hasn't had a ton of opportunities for passes out of the backfield, he makes the most of his opportunities and he definitely has very good ability with pass catching. I really don't think you need to worry about that aspect.
I agree, I wouldn't want to give up a 2nd round draft pick, but if we have to for a guy like this then I do it, he's that good.
would u rather trade for him or Mike Turner?
This McGahee interest has been blown out of proportion a little, as a reporter asked Reese if he'd have interest in McGahee and Reese responeded that he'd definitely be interested in McGahee and a fewother back that could help. But its been translated as the Giants are hot and heavy after Willis.
BTW, Willis has had a lot of knee problems and might be moving down instead of up. As it is, he's a less than 4 yard per carry guy- that's not what you want to see in today's NFL. Puts him in the below average/average category for starting RB's. If all they want is a 2nd day pick- Ok, but otherwise pass.

I'd rather have Mike Turner but he's going to cost a no.1, so forget it. Willis for a 4th or 5th is ok.
Better off drafting someone anyway.

Good question. McGahee played well in Buffalo behind a terrible offensive line, imagine what he can do behind a good one. I'll take whoever comes cheaper.

agreed... if we can get Turner for a 2nd rounder, i'd much rather go that route... & i don't see Willis going for a 4th or 5th rounder... that's pretty low for a guy of his stature, but who knows... i think i'd rather stand pat & not make ANY trades, target a guy in free agency to be Jacobs' running mate out of the backfield, & use the draft to restock & get younger & more athletic in our defensive secondary & LBer corps... we also need to draft an O-lineman to take Petitgout's place someday... Diehl's moving over to LT, but i think that's more of a temporary fix... not sure how good Guy Whimper will be either, he didn't get any playing time last season.
I watch willis every sunday here upstate, he runs with a hitch and has a attitude with his baby momma(child support) drama FOLLOWING HIM, i'm an eagle fan please takem gints

Considering how much McGahee costs under the cap, and the fact this production has declined rather than improved, you might defintitely see him go for a mid-rounder.
