Knicks · Where can I get a Shandon A. jersey????? (page 1)

Fordy74 @ 9/27/2001 10:05 AM
I love him already after reading his first public comments since joining the Knicks in todays post. Anderson is a NY=type player a Van Gundy type player. I think he is going to be a crowd favorite for sure. He said something to the effect of I will run Jordans a** over if I have to im not afraid to guard him. Shandon ROCKS!!!

Hello Fordy,

Is it possible for you to cut and paste the Anderson article as I am not an "insider"?

Thx

"If you have to run his [butt] over, you're going to have to run his [butt] over," added Anderson, whose Knicks host the Wizards Oct. 30 in Jordan's first game. "I don't give him any kind of pass and let him go to the basket. You play him hard like he's anyone in the league"

Gotta love the attitude. No question the guy is a great defender. Its interesting that I totally didn't think of how Anderson played against Jordan in the Finals. Those two guys have a history that will make that first game in the Garden even more interesting to watch. But Jordan's game has changed so much, I am not sure that Anderson can use his past experience to his advantage.

As far as Anderson becoming a crowd favorite, we'll see. He definately has the attitude but he is going to have to back up his big words with strong play.

The full article is actually from the NY Post...you can find the link to it on the main ultimateknicks.com page (right hand column).

Just wondered if this could be turned into an anti-Melo thread.

This is only a test.

Unfortunately he was institutionalized shortly after this thread was created.

And yet, he'd probably be better than most of the guys we have. Shandon and that crew's biggest problem was that they were playing major minutes on teams that had subpar starters. As 6th to 8th men on teams with a better core, they were solid. Some of the rotation guys we have might not be in the rotation on most NBA teams, now that we've gotten a good look at them.

It's sad, but the days of Shanvis Eisleyspoon were better than today.

I'm pretty sure Melo is responsible for the absence of Shandon Anderson jerseys.

I wonder what every happened to Fordy74 and RemBee76? Those guys were great posters. With that said Iman Shumpert has become Shandon Anderson with a flattop.

I wonder how good Shump would be if he played under Jerry Sloan. Sloan made a lot of mediocre wings and point guards look good, from Blue Edwards to Shandon Anderson.

this is interesting, to see the old excitement that someone could actually be a NY kind of player who would love the fans and the fans would love.

that kind of idea has been killed over recent years.

i used to think the knicks were so special b/c when you played here the city and fans wouldn't let you not be your best. i used to think that guys like starks and mason and childs were examples of people with mediocre nba skills, but who the city helped will into being front line players on title contending teams.

but now, after all this suckiness, i realize that those guys were more legitimately talented than the media gave them credit for. and the impact the city and fans has on pushing a player to new heights is minimal, if it even exists at all.

i used to think nyc would push guys like maurice taylor and tim thomas to their max potential. just a buncha b.s. really.

You mean Sloan, the same guy who got 14 points a game and few quality seasons out of Ronnie Brewer lol I think Sloan would've found a way to use Shump and Shump's career would have been better for it.

He probably could have also turned Bargs into Karl Malone.
