Get 60 homeruns this year?

A-rod has been a bitch since he put on pinstripes. This year he has seemed to be more loose and focused on the game. He doesn't usually get hot till the weather hot hot. If he can maintain this focus, I can see this pretty boy knockin back 60 homers.
MS @ 4/19/2007 12:07 PM
I think he realizes that everyone thinks he is a bitch epecially after leading the team in hr's and rbi's for the past two season, and will likely get over 60, and give all you yankee fans the big fuck you and then leave, and you will be screwed

That's why I still call him a bitch cuz I know if he were to really get 60 homers he will wind up saying some stupid shit like that on his way out in the off-season.
JrZyHuStLa @ 4/19/2007 12:19 PM
You're both wrong. A-Rod can never be a biatch. Since when is a 35 HR and 120+ RBI season a bitchy season ??

If he leaves, it's really no big deal. We have plenty of big bats to go around.
MS @ 4/19/2007 12:32 PM
not really matsui, abreau and giambi are slowing down
Nalod @ 4/19/2007 12:38 PM
I think Texas pays like 10 mil of his salary, but no one player is worth 25mil unless he can win 25 games for 10 years!

His walk out year will be a beast, but in the end we can't afford that kind of money.

Well, I think the reason people can't stand him is his mouth. He just says stupid things. He also has struck out too many times when the team needs him when guys like Ortiz, manny, beltran, Wright, Reyes, jeter and some other yanks/rivals were getting it done.

I was ready to trade him after he brought up the fact him and jeter aren't lovers anymore. No one asked him but he brought it up and didn't just leave it alone he went on with it and suggested that he would walk and rub it in to us fans.

Fuck him, but its still a possibility he could get 60 homers. That would put him in a sentence with The babe, mantle, and Maris. That would be another huge thing to talk about.

the only thing arod has to do is perform in october. remember tino was CRAP in october until that grand slam vs. finley (where he got CRAZY lucky they didn't call strike 3 on the pitch before).

only october matters for the yankees. everything else is just filler.

Pretty much.

Thanks for single handedly shutting down the thread DJ.
JrZyHuStLa @ 4/19/2007 1:31 PM
No wonder the Knicks' threads never get shut down, cuz we can't even make the playoffs !!

yup, thats the gist of it. a-rod can hit 70 hr's this season and it wouldnt mean a damn thing if he played like a champ when it matters...in october.
TMS @ 4/19/2007 9:27 PM
maybe we can trade him for a guy who can get it done in October, like Aaron Boone.
EnySpree @ 4/20/2007 12:29 AM
Ass-rod just hit a walk off 3 run homer today. Yes that means he won another game with one mighty swing of the bat.

Currently this mofo is on pace to guy 116 homers for the year, lol.

All this only to completely get sucked into jeters ass in october.

Go yanks.

I know you're kidding, but Aaron Boone didn't get it done in October. He had the clutch homer in that postseason, but he had something like 4 hits total that postseason (two of them were homers). If Aaron had hit more frequently during that postseason, maybe we don't need a game 7 12th inning homer and maybe we actually put up a few runs on the board against Florida.
TMS @ 4/23/2007 11:58 PM
yeah, i was kidding obviously... the same idiots that boo ARod & want him shipped out will be crying when he's gone & we're stuck w/the Mike Lamb's & Aaron Boone's of the world at 3B, mark my words.
EnySpree @ 4/24/2007 12:02 PM
He hit 2 more homers!

Dude has 14 homers, which is the fastest to ever do that.

I boo Ass-rod. All the fans want is their best player, on in a-rods case, the best player in the world to play like one.

He is finally showing how badass he is. He's gotta do it in October and then win or lose he will get the respect he wants.
TMS @ 4/24/2007 10:19 PM
i wouldn't be overly shocked if he kept this tear going all year long... he looks so damn focused & comfortable at the plate... i wanna see him break Bonds' single season HR record this year.

Funny how he has so many at this point, and the team isn't winning. As a matter of fact, it's on a low end losing streak. He doesn't help us in the playoffs, and he doesn't help us when he's having a big year. GOOOOOOOOOOO FIGURE!

Sort of like what starbury's been doing to us, right?

A Rod has hit how many Walk Off home runs to win games this year?

Just stop.

That's wonderful! I mean it's great on a personal basis. I'm glad he's doing something great, at least on a personal level. May shatter all of his own records. It's just ironic that now that he's really doing something big for himself, as a Yankee, the team hit the cellar. Don't you find that funny? And don't get so panicky, the season is still very, very young. it practically just started. He's looking good though, I'll admit that one. Maybe he can finally carry that over into the playoffs, if we're still not in the basement by then.
