all of these rappers held the crown for one summer at least and all of them at their peaks, were a notch above Wayne lyrically

Who said it was about lyrics?

Then whats the point of rapping when you dont have any lyrical skills. That is why it is wack now because guys like cam'ron can getaway with saying things like "That rooti, tooti, fruity, Louie, what I usually do" and Wayne with half the garbage things he says.

Anji couldn't agree more. Still find a spot for those songs on my playlist today

Those are still in rotation on alot of radio stations. Benjamins ran 97 and DMX was killing it. Ruff ryders was voice of summer for a second....... something new.

Remember the first time Ruff Riders Anthem came on in your hood???? Crazy!!!!!!!!

bigbeast says it aint about lyrics but the last three Lil Wayne CDs have outsold the last three Jay Z CDs.

I know that just hurts your feelings doesn't it.

And you keep talking about garbagr rap but it was your generation who MC Hammer came out and sold all those CDs in -- and that says what?

Once again, I am going to tell you that its HUSTLER MUSIK. Damn who can rhyme the best. Its about money. Who can rhyme the best don't mean anything. You can be the best rhymer and still be broke. Ask Rakim.

Wake up, it's about money.

SMH, I would revoke your Hiphop Card for trying to clown on Benjamins. That is probably the greatest summer time hiphop song Ever!!!!!! Big, the loxs and Little kim have never been on a song together.

SMH @ YOu.

Rakim anyday would say Lyrical Talent over money, that is what Hip Hop is. The music today is cooperate spitouts.
bigpimpin @ 6/23/2007 6:11 PM
Tell Rakim that Lil Wayne said get back to the money

Exactly

Who cares where it started? The NBA started without black people playing? What is your point? Those same rappers who started it are not selling now. No one listens to their garbage anymore. Their style of hip hop died. Hustler musik aint dead.

LIl Wayne, a southern rapper, outsold the God himself Jay Z

Aww, yall mad
